Dust Jackets??

It's your book. But, that is interesting to know. I was planning to release a hardcover with the dust jacket. I'm glad I stayed with the softcover.
I do the same thing! Take the dust jackets that are ugly off and keep them in a drawer next to the bookshelves. I just make sure they don't get too damaged/creased. And I always take them off before reading. I've heard very judgmental things from others about it as well, but that's ridiculous. You own those books, you do what you need to do. As long as you're not damaging others' stuff, who cares? And as for reselling - I've bought dust jacket-less books at second-hand shops. If I want the title, I'll get it. True book lovers don't care. Love is love. You take those dust jackets off, girl
i always take them off when i am reading, partly out of preservation impulses, and also because they are always in the way and they make the book slippy. but i think it's hilarious that there is so much outrage out there about dust jackets. who knew?
Right I don't get it! If it's your shelf or your books who's to judge you like that on something as simple as dust jackets? Just seems so petty. Some people write in their books and I'd never write or highlight in mine but that's just me and I wouldn't say they don't love their books. The opinions have made me feel less guilty! Lol. Thanks for the input. I am going to go finish taking off my dust jackets, guilt free. Lol :)
It's been a long time since I bought a hardback book (I read mostly on my kindle), but when I did occasionally, I would usually leave the dust jacket on. I liked to use it as a bookmark.
Lol I've seen a lot of people mention using it as a bookmark. I'm bad at keeping bookmarks so that would be very useful to me if I actually kept them.

Anyway, I hope it's okay to post this here. I'm just curious on what others do with the dust jackets. I looked online a bit and found some very offended people angry with the poster for throwing away their dust jackets when 1. They didn't plan on ever selling it 2. They had no idea you could sell/give away the dust jackets and 3. They truly just didn't want them on there. Someone even called the person vulgar and not a true book lover lol I found that ridiculous.
