Joyce Lily, what is our second book next month? (Thanks for putting Dark Wolf down for Kay, btw).

It would be fun to read a series.

Priscilla suggested:
* Justin Cronin's "The Passage" It would be fun to read a trilogy. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...

Other suggestions might be:

* Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... are 3 books out & one coming out 2015? The second and third books have much higher ratings. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

* Written in Red by Anne Bishop There are two books published in the series so far.

Joyce It is nice to have more than one book, because not everyone likes to read the same thing.

Meghan | 9 comments I have read the legend, the mortal instruments series, and literally just finished the alchemyst series. All three series are good and entertaining. My all time favorite is the outlander series by Diana galbadon; they are much more time consuming though.

I haven't read the Outlander series yet, the Alchemist series, or Legend series but plan to start in the next week. I think I'll read Outlander first, on your recommendation. But first I have to finish The Iron Daughter and The Immortal Rules. Just finished The Iron King, and it was okay. Wanted to read the series because later books have better ratings.

Hey, did you see that the City of Heavenly Fire is out now? Yay!

Have you read the series The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Claire? I loved that series. It is a prequel series that was started in the middle of The Mortal Instruments series (I think). I think I might like that series even better than The Mortal Instruments - and I liked that series a lot.

Meghan | 9 comments I've read the iron king series, it was ok. And I've read the other series infernal devices, they're good too. I did not know the new book was out.

With the outlander series, It took me a few tries to get into it. The beginning kind of dragged for me the first times I read it but once she jumped back in time I got hooked. If you find that happening to you, skip ahead until she goes back in time and you can always go back and read beginning. I've read the whole series a few times now. It is my favorite series out there.

Joyce Okay, thanks.

I had that problem with Legend and put it down. I wasn't sure if it was her writing style, or if it was me. (I hurt my hand and needed something to draw me in fast.) I want to try to read it again sometime soon. I also couldn't read Winter's Tale. It was a snooze fest, but that might have just been me and my reaction to pain and medicine.

I didn't have a problem with the book dragging at all. I love it so far. But you are right, it does get a lot more exciting once she goes back in time. I didn't want to put it down.

Meghan | 9 comments Good. I'm glad you like it. Of course the first times I tried starting to read it was on my moms advice when I was in college, so that was probably the main problem I had. Haha

Joyce I'm on page 80 of Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander #2) now. :)
I was upset at first that Gabaldon had jumped ahead 20 years in time until I figured out that she was going to cover some of what I missed. I can't wait till the next book - Voyager. I think I know what is going to happen in that book- er - how it will start out anyway. I am totally hooked on the series.

Meghan | 9 comments I'm glad you are enjoying them! You have me wanting to reread them again! ;)

Joyce Did you know there is going to be an Outlander TV series on STARZ? It airs on August 9th at 9 p.m. See Diana's blog:

Too bad I don't get STARZ. May have to record it on my father-in-law's TV (or get STARZ, lol).

Meghan | 9 comments Dang... I thought it was being made into a movie and I don't have starz either!

Hey Meghan,
Did you see that "Written in My Own Heart's Blood" (Outlander #8) comes out June 10? I'm only on book 3 (Voyager) now, so I'm not ready to read it, but I am excited to hear that there is another book.
