I would like to write non-fiction, about the futility of setting up goals , toiling to achieve them and enjoying success but then falling into another goal trap again .
actually i was writing a book based on the constantine movie but the whole data was ruined with my tablet
Arbaaz wrote: "actually i was writing a book based on the constantine movie but the whole data was ruined with my tablet"Ohh so sad :(
I would like to write something with myths, magic, witches, prophecies - whole works.. Will be a trilogy for sure...Now if only I had the words and the patience to write it *sigh* :P :D :D
Another favorite idea of mine is to do a collection of old stories or fables that have been prevalent in South India with an analysis of the same... something like interpreting it to suit modern times, if possible.. hmmmm
self help and motivational books.

It would turn into a children's series. Unicorns are happy animals unlike....
:D
Fantasy, with robust horses, like Shadowfax and totally cool wizards and witches. :) Love stories- which will always feature a dog or a pup; a gutsy, smart, quick-witted woman, and an utterly astute, sexy guy, who loves to play the guitar, and loads of fun bickering happening between the two. ;)
There, i already presented much of the synopsis of my imaginary book! :p :D

Ha Ha..it is, aint it? :p
But I guess, its always going to stay locked in my head, like many of the stories I often start, but can't finish up. ;)

I've never exposed myself to Indian folklore and I would love to know where can I find an epub on that subject. If I were an author, my protagonist would be an animal like a dog or a cat.

Seriously ruchi? You fon't know what folklore is? It's sone legendary story from around a city or a estate. Search it NOW
I define folklore as old stories with (usually) magical elements, particular to a region and culture and passed down from generation to generation. Folklore doesn't have a definite author or a clear "publication date". It is usually meant to reflect the desire and values of our ancestors. I hope my definition is not off the mark, it is something I remember from my high school literature class.

Whoa, hold on! Give me exaggeration that i can handle! ;)This is too much for any day. Well, if ever (seriously, ever :p) I happen to finish any of my stories, i'll have you review you first! :D

Thanks Poulomi! I'd read yours too, if you make the dog come between the couple :D
I would write about the lost city of Atlantis (not the movie, the actual place) because I'm interested in its mystery and mythology. I'm also an archaeological nut lol.
I am also writing a story that is Debbie Macomber-ish; it's about a doctor in Seattle who is lured by her friend to another job/state/higher income and it all turns into one big flop.

Of course, you think i'll leave out the cute little thing behind? It will be an Alaskan Malamute maybe, or a Labrador or a German Shepherd! Lord, i might probably end up making it the main theme of the story.. :D

I asked myself the same question 8 years ago and I couldn't answer. The ideas started to bubble though and gave it a go. I'm now writing in a genre I never thought I would and enjoyed it more than anything. My advice would be to give it a go if you think you have a book in you, it's such a rush and sense of achievement to finish writing one, let alone take the huge step of publishing!
Most of my short stories and poems swirls around transgressive and obscure existential elements of human condition. Buhhttt, I'll never ever try to get these published. Me writes for me own pleasure and few slowly fading, echoing distant claps hehe
I used to write short stories about magical, faraway places, when I was younger; but that's when I was into more fantasy-type stuff. Now that I'm older, I don't read that much fantasy. If I was a writer, I'd probably write realistic, YA fiction; ideally. And if that failed, I'd try my hand at dystopian books. I've always been a little afraid of writing dystopian worlds; though...they seem like they'd require a lot of drafting, and world-building...
And if push comes to shove, I can always try writing about the second great love of my life - pop culture. :)
:Sherlock Holmes" type books with a lady as man character. Love ole era stories like that, so much history!
Currently have an interest in the paranormal,so maybe i'll write something about spirits and ghosts.I would want to do a fantasy type story too. With just a tinge of romance and darkness inside.
compassion. does it exists in the world today? DO we know the definition? And do we know how to go about spreading it?
I like historical romance, faith-based themes. My finished book (Neither Here Or There) starts when my main character is nine and follows her til right before her 14th birthday. It's sequel (still working on it off and on) picks up around her 14th bday and that will take her to hs graduation and then the third book(not yet started) will pick up with her in college. want to do an offshoot Daphne(one of the secondary characters in book 1 and give her her own story,Also have a christian romance I'm working on (Love's blind Faith) which is set in berlin around the time the wall went up and continues until it comes down. that one all started with a question that bugged my mind "what would happen if the wall goes up and two lovers are suddenly obn separate sides and have to keep their love alive. will their love survive and will they pass their test of faith...
