I didn't see a topic for The Once and Future King, but got a message this group is going to read it? When? And which movie? If it's the musical Camelot, count me in! I've seen that movie a million times; it tears me up.

This book is part of our Books2Movies Epic Project, but I haven't had yet time to finish Spartacus.
Please be patient, I think I'll read the book in a week or two, and then I'll prepare the book thread for The Once and Future King :)
My plan is really to see afterwards Camelot and Disney's animated feature, but I wouldn't mind to add Excalibur in the mix. It maybe wasn't based on this particular book, but shares the same setting, I think.

Do you know which movie exactly was based on The Once and Future King? And what's the name of the Disney film? Not sure I want to see that.
I didn't realize you all started reading The Once and Future King back in January. I don't think I was notifed about it until very recently. But it's probably my own fault for rarely checking in. I'm intimidated by the size of the book, plus I'm in the middle of too many other books, so I'm not going to attempt to catch up. Enjoy it, tho!
Honestly, I read the whole thing (including the previously unpublished fifth part, The Book of Merlin) and frankly, I would say just to read the first section, The Sword in the Stone, which the Disney film by the same name is based on. It's quirky, funny and easy to read, whereas the later sections got very tedious for me. But the first section gives you enough of the taste of the story, and the Disney film adaptation is surprisingly pretty close.
