If you read and write, I salute you as much as those about to rock! I'm one that falls under this category of reader/writer. Listing this under release valve so you can yell virtually about writers block, give tips to aspiring writers, share ideas that you're working on. I personally started seriously writing at age twelve. I started with songs, though I only knew how to play the recorder and the flute. I would just have the music/melody in my head perfectly like it was playing live in front of me and I'd write the lyrics and remember the sound. I made two 'albums', using voice memo on my iPhone to record Acapella. I didn't know about music apps then. At fourteen, I wrote my first book, Love Me Love Me Not, after reading tons of books in verse. I never finished anything but here was a book in verse. I then focused on the sequel to that, but I haven't finished it even now at eighteen. I write fanfic and songs still.
