Deborah Johns Whose horror do you you prefer? Clive Barker, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Robert McCammon or another author?

Allan Stephen King is excellent, but my heart definately goes with Clive Barker. I started reading his books in mid 80's and still enjoy them. Really wish he would bring something new into the market again. I also enjoy Brian Lumley's works as well.

Vampire Jones I'm certainly a Clive Barker fan. I like Stephen King, but honestly, he talks too much, I think, and sometimes, you just want to cut out half the book. I found that Koontz is hit or miss, loved From the Corner of his Eye, but then I'm not too big on Odd Thomas. Barker seems to scratch the itch about 90% of the time and that's a good score!

John Bovie Clive Barker wins hands down. I am not a Stephen King fan but Clive Barker's command of the English language is surpassed by none. His ability to paint a picture that instantly creates a visual impression, in my opinion, has not been seen as vividly in ANY other author.
