Jessamine Franklin, otherwise known as Jin, was walking through the park. She'd been expecting to meet her sister here. She'd just been let off her job as a clerk. She still had work later -- waitressing at the Soul and the Dragon, but she had a couple hours off. She usually met Celia here when she could. She heard her sister's footsteps approaching from behind. "Celia, hey!" she called, turning to face the younger girl.
"Hey!" Celia greeted her sister. She was happy to see Jessamine, since they didn't have much time together these days.
Jin was glad to see her sister and told herself that she really should not be feeling guilty about not seeing her as much as either girl would like. She was trying not to feel guilty about any of it. It was her work that kept them apart, yes, but it was also her work that gave them a place to live and food on their table. "How's it going?"
"Everything's okay. I've been drawing more... Since all magic was banned and whatnot, I've been drawing mythical creatures like nymphs and dragons. I found and old book buried at the edge of the walls. Does that count as being rebellious?" She said jokingly. She looked up to her sister, but she couldn't help her tendency to follow the rules and not cause trouble. She wanted her sister to feel she was with her, though.((Is that allowed in the group?))
((Magic vanished -- it wasn't banned; a lot of the original council members were even mages and such. Other than that, the post looks all right.))
"Doubt it," Jin answered with a chuckle, picking at her nails to get the grime out from under them. She needed her hands clean for waitressing later, and she didn't feel like washing up either. As far as she was concerned, drawing things on one's own paper wasn't rebellion. Double-agent-ing, however was. Jin would definitely call herself a rebel.

((Does Celia know Jessamine is a double-agent?))"Thought so." Celia said. "Are you off to Souls and Dragons next?" She asked. She kind of knew the answer, but she wasn't sure what to say.
((Probably not. She would probably try to hide it to protect her.))
"Yeah, I am," Jin admitted. She didn't exactly need her little sister to know that tonight was one of the times she was going to dance as well as waitress. She didn't exactly mind it -- she could even find it fun, but she wanted to try to set a halfway-decent example for Celia, who had always been the one who was supposed to be the example for her, according to their parents.

((Maybe we should start thinking of something to happen. Maybe some weird plot twist (not in the group, just between them. Doesn't need to be sudden, I'm just thinking.))"Okay. I guess I'll go back to drawing rebelliously while you're out." She said. She knew it was weird to press on the same joke, but she didn't really care. "Do we really not have anything to talk about? I feel like this is getting a little awkward." She laughed nervously.
((Probably. Maybe someone else figures out that Jin is a double agent so she asks Celia for help?))
"Maybe a bit," Jin admitted sadly. How had it gotten to the point where they had nothing to talk about. "So today at the ship, Margot, you know -- the boss, she was insisting that we relocate this one stack of books because customers would trip over it. So I moved it, right? But then people really were tipping over it -- like I counted at least ten." She grinned. "But then I moved it back, and no one tripped over it. Margot was so pissed; it was great!"

((Hm.. Sounds interesting.))Celia laughed. That was better. "That must've been satisfactory." She said. "But you work so hard to pay for our flat, and I want to help too. What do you think if I tried to get a job? I'm already old enough, I think."
((Kay))
Jin laughed. "Yeah, well I was the one who had to lift all the books. And they were hardbacks, too. So frickin' heavy." She flexed her. "See, my work makes me strong!" She winked. And then she frowned. "I guess. I mean, you're basically done with school. . . ." And she hadn't dropped out like Jin had either. That meant she had a lot more options than Jin had. She would be able to get more money than Jin could -- which would mean she were the breadwinner of the house, not Jin. Jin wasn't sure what to think about that.

((Sorry but i kind of gtg to sleep, can we continue tomorrow? Meanwhile I'll think of what Celia's job can be.))
((Okay! That works for me! =) See you tomorrow, then!))
"Hmm... I guess I could start with something like The Coffee Break, while I look for something more serious." She said. She'd been thinking of that for a while now, and she had some ideas. She didn't quite have a completed plan yet.
Jin nodded slowly, biting her lower lip. She struggled to hide the grimace that wanted to worm its way onto her lips. "Yeah, sure, I mean, I've heard good things about working there. Ms. Affini is supposed to be a good boss." Jin twirled a loose strand of hair around her finger. "I guess that works." She clapped her little sister on the shoulder and pasted a fake smile on her own lips. "I'm proud of you, sis, whatever you do." That, of course, was no lie.
"Thank you, Jin. I'm here for you too, whatever you need." She smiled at her sister. She had noticed her bite her lip, but had decided not to ask. It was kind of hard to be there for such a mysterious person. Celia was no dummy - she knew her sister hid things from her, from everyone, but she'd never wanted to bring it up. She didn't think it would go well if she did. Besides, she respected her sister's privacy.
"Thanks." This smile was real despite how forced the last couple had been. "Well, come on then, no use standing 'round here all day, is there?" Jin looped her arm through her sister's. "We should go somewhere, you know." She cocked her head to the lift, and when she next looked at Celia, her smile had broadened into a fully-fledged grin. "Where should we go, do you reckon?"
Celia smiled. "I don't know. I spend everyday standing around, you're the one who keeps working. So it's only right that you get to chose. If the world was going to end, and you only had one more hour to live, where would you go?" She asked. It was true, she thought. Her sister could use this as the shortest holiday in the world.((Whoops I'm sorry... I just had forgotten...))
Jin blinked at the question and tried to think of a half-decent answer. She figured Celia wouldn't exactly be interested in the stupid pranks she pulled with her friends. "Somewhere with my little sister. You pick." Jin grinned at Celia. She was not in the least amused at having brought the decision back to Celia.
((It's fine))
((It's fine))
((It's fine. Would they go into the Heart of the City or the Slums do you reckon?))
((We need to figure out what's happening. I'll remind Emma next time I see her online))
((I just agreed to Council Park))
