Am I allowed to make a little comment in respect of these previous postings? ... and apologise for obscure nature of this book title...although perhaps serving a purpose in attracting attention(!) It's attempting to draw out the tendency we have, even as Christians, in focusing on the material / physical, and basing our decisions / choices / way of living on those things. God, however, wants us to focus on Him and have His perspective in respect of our lives (hence, '...beyond the horizon'). The dreams, hopes and aspirations that we have are part of this God-given sensitivity that needs developing.
In looking at the life of Samuel (the prophet, or 'seer') in the Old Testament we can find some practical ways in which God works in our lives to develop our spiritual awareness.
Hope this clarifies the basic aim of the book which tries to have a very 'hands on' and (very!!) non-academic approach.
Group members might be aware that this book is featured as a 'Giveaway' on Goodreads, and want to know that the opportunity to apply for a copy expires in a couple of day's time. Would also be good to pray that those who are selected for the Giveaway copies of the book find it to be a blessing!!
Givaways are entered by entering the book title in the general search box which then brings up the full details of the book. On the right of the picture of the book cover should be a box with words "Enter giveaway". Simply click in that box and your details are put with all those others who have entered. But hurry-time is short. Hope this helps.
Yay!!! Thanks Stephen! I figured it out! Lol. Working with a phone is so much more complicated than on a computer XP Lol
Thanks Stephen!(:

"Finding a place to settle" - Members of 'Real Christians' may be interested in a further book that's just emerged. It looks at the Old Testament character of Ruth and how God worked in her life to give her an awareness of identity. This book is currently listed as another Goodreads 'Giveaway' (until August).
Hope that readers will find this helpful both in respect of personal reflection and also a resource for small group discussion.

Thanks everyone!! :D
