Why haven't I posted here before? Goodness gracious. If we're talking instrumental... This piano arrangement by Eric Lewis. It's not classical, but I love it a lot. A wonderful example of how music can be music even if it isn't "pretty."
I know that Pachelbel's Canon is very popular, but it is also a lovely piece.
And for another non-classical piano piece: Kiss the Rain
I also love Lindsey Sterling's violin music and Scott Bradlee's piano mash-ups. This mash-up of "I Dreamed a Dream" and "Dream On" is awesome.
If we're talking opera or operetta... Anything performed by Rita Streich is great, but her Caro Nome is sublime. I'm not a huge Verdi fan (although I don't really mind him either), but I could play and replay this song all day.
And who doesn't love the Queen of the Night Aria from Die Zauberflote? Also, in other news, I auditioned for a part in Magic Flute and think they're going to cast me!
Finally, Sorry Her Lot is a really neat Gilbert and Sullivan piece. The video I linked isn't my favorite version, but it's pretty good.
If we're walking broadway... Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful is my favorite song from Cinderella.
I've Decided to Marry You is a fun song, and the staging makes it! Hilarious!!!
Anything Elaine Paige, but Memory is one of her finest moments.
Lastly, Unusual Way from Nine.
