Anthony Award nominations are coming up again! Submissions are due May 15th, according to the email form I got last week. Attendees of Bouchercon are the nominators and voters, so I know we've got quite a few people here who can put in their two cents.

The categories are:
**Best Novel
**Best First Novel
**Best Paperback Original
**Best Short Story
**Best Critical or Nonfiction
**Best Children's/Young Adult
**Best TV Episode
**Best Audiobook

So lets talk through the possibilities! Which mysteries and thrillers that were published last year did you read this year and absolutely loved? Let's throw around some reading recommendations!

I've definitely got The Doll on my short list for Best Novel. And Seven for a Secret.

I just read Brilliance by Marcus Sakey that was a great mix of political thriller and sci-fi; definitely top of my list for best paperback original. And Rage Against the Dying for Best First.

Still waffling on Best YA. I've read quite a bit of YA, but not much mystery YA, so I think I've got some reading to do before May!
