Just finished this a day ago. The book is very much a Neal Stephenson book, so if you like his style it's great, if not, you probably won't. The book is divided into 3 parts, and the first one has more Stephenson explanation and digression then I remembered him typically having. But the story still moves along, and by the 2nd and 3rd parts there seemed to be much less of this. The world he builds is huge and has many possibilities in it, most of them left unexplored. From the beginning woman play a very important role in the story, from being some of the main POV characters to being the head of governments and space stations.
Overall I very much liked it, and this showed a bit of a different side to Neal's writing. This is probably not my favorite NS book, but it is up there.
