I'll try to get to the 20+ level-
Here are my 2nd in series books I've thought to go back to. I'll have to decide which ones to read.
Here are my 2nd in series books I've thought to go back to. I'll have to decide which ones to read.

Ok, I checked and I have 14 I am on book two of and one I am on book three of (trilogy). I am trying it!
14 of 20 read
Cool, 14 would be impressive too. I don't know if I'll get the 20 done because there are only a handful that are calling to me of the above books.
I pushed through Outfoxed by Love because after the first book, I considered giving the series a no go, but I gave it a "second chance". It was maybe a little better than book one.
I also read Stone Embrace: A Stone Guardian After-Scene but being a 54 page short story, it is hard to consider it. It improved my feelings of the first book though. :-)
List of seconds I've read-
Sept 2 To Marry A Scottish Laird Hmm, OK think I'll go on
Sept 4, Outfoxed by Love re-tried series probably not continuing.
Sept 4, Stone Embrace: A Stone Guardian After-Scene definitely want to continue
Sept 7 Cursed Moon This is a pretty good new police series out there
Sept 21 The Dragon Conspiracy Each one gets less appealing.
Sept 23 Heart of Iron, this is good, but don't know if I'll continue
Sept 26 The Man Within, I just don't like her sexual descriptions and the plots are so thin that it doesn't make up for the poor erotica. I may try one more but maybe one farther down the series.
Oct 3 A Local Habitation by Seanan McGuire- might skip ahead
Oct 12 The Cage King by Danielle Monsch best.
Oct 13 The Perilous Sea by Sherry Thomas
Nov 1 Unholy Magic by Stacia Kane
Nov 8 Rocky Mountain Desire by Vivian Arend don't have 2 so three, much better than 1. Still not great.
Nov 20 Claimed By Shadow by Karen Chance
Nov 27 Death's Mistress by Karen Chance

I just re-read
in anticipation for the October release of
but now see that the date has changed to 2016.
Guess I can cross that of my list of possibles.
Burn for me is so, so great. Very fun. Forgot how much I liked it and would suggest it to anyone that needs a new series, except it isn't a series yet... just the one book.;

How was it. I have Enoch on my TBR, at the top. I've heard that she is good.

She is, but I like her older series more. This one is good though :)

I love it! You're kind of making me want to re-read :D
I've been rereading Lisa Kleypas, Devil in Winter and now Mine til Midnight. My friend and I talked about Devil in Winter and I decided I needed to revisit. Then you see Cam in there. I read his book before the Wallflowers so I wanted to read about him again. We will see if that takes me somewhere else.
Re-reads can be good.
Re-reads can be good.
yes, but re-reads aren't counting for this one or I would've had a couple more to add already. :-(

I would have as well :D
Out of the 10 seconds I've read above, 6 are truly second chances, the other 3 (4) are ones I recently read the first, Perilous Sea, Cage King (and Stone Embrace), A Local Habitation, and kept having to put off...
So of the 6 rest, I'll probably only continue to read 2 of them, How to Marry a Scottish Laird, and Cursed Moon. And the Scot Laird only because it is Lynsay Sands and I end up reading all of hers. So only ONE that I thought was a really, really, deserving second.
The Heart of Iron was good but... it'll be a 3rd chance... maybe... somewhere in the future as it didn't make me want to run to the next. None of the others will I probably look at unless something/someone pushes them.
The other 3 series (4 stories) are really good to great, Perilous Sea. I'm starting number 3 next.

So here's the rules, any book that is second in a series counts to your count. No re-reads on this one.
In addition, any novellas with the numbers 1.5 (or 1.something) and 2.5 count to your count too, as long as you've read the first book. And if you want, one book which is 3rd in the series counts, but only one, and only if you last read the series over a year ago. And one book that is any number in a series, only one again, but only if the last one you read in the series was over a year ago. This is to say, you are giving these two books/series, a second chance.
So all the books should be the 2nd in the series except novellas around the number 2 ie. 1 point something or 2 point something, and possibly two books that are further along in the series but you put it down over a year ago.
There are 3 months for this challenge, September, October, and November
Levels are...
5 books Light weight
10 books Heavy weight
15 books Matador
20+ books Gladiator
