YAY!! :)Okay, btw it's not really inspired I guess it is in a way but that video's pretty cool so yeah...
The bus pulled into the school parking lot, and all the other kids along with me started screaming. Screaming of excitement or anxiety. I don't know, one of them. I guess I just screamed because everyone else was.
First grade was a big deal for me. My big sister, Emily, who's starting grade four, told me all about how great elementary school is! You get great friends, and get to do crafts, and... it's so much fun!
Except I didn't know any of the new faces. I don't think anyone knew anyone, anyways. Except for the people who, unlike me, went to this school for kindergarten together.
The three grade one teachers were standing right outside the bus when we got off. Mrs. Ross, Mr. Hobbits and Ms. Sydney. Mine was Ms. Sydney, but I didn't know what she looked like.
I walked up to a forty or so year old woman with long red hair and didn't look very nice. I hoped she wasn't Ms. Sydney as I hid my crossed fingers in my pocket.
"Are you... are you Ms. Sydney?" I nervously asked her, chewing on my hair, which was a nervous habit of mind.
"No, she is," Mrs. Ross said, pointing to the other woman.
Yay, I didn't have her! I was so happy, as I grinned and walked up to Ms. Sydney, who looked about thirty years old. She had long brown hair with yellow highlights, and lots of freckles.
"Hello, Ms. Sydney!" I grinned in front of her.
Ms. Sydney smiled back at me and shook my hand. "Hello! What's your name, sweetie?" she asked me, looking at her clipboard which had the class list on it.
"Hayley. Hayley Walsh," I nodded. "I mean, Hayley Jennifer Bethany Walsh."
"Okay, Hayley!" she said, checking my name off her list. "You can go line up behind the last person in line."
"Okay!" I said, and walked behind a girl with short blonde hair and who wore a pretty green and purple flowery dress.
The girl looked at me and immediately gave me a nasty look. "I don't like you, move," she demanded, crossing her arms and putting her chin up.
I chewed on my hair again. She didn't seem very nice. "Oh, um, this my - my class."
The girl snapped at me and gave me another dirty, bratty look. Was everyone in this school like that? Was I put into a school like that?
"Alright, boys and girls. Follow me," Ms. Sydney stuck up her arm for everyone's attention, turned around and walked into the school as we all followed her, turned left and walked into our class. "I have written your name on a sticky note on the desk I assigned you. Then you have a piece of paper which you will write your name and decorate it on. I'll give you fifteen minutes to do that and chat, and then we'll get to introductions."
I looked around the room like everyone else, looking for the sticky note with my name. And then I found it... Hayley W. I looked at the names that were in my desk group. Clara, Willy and Henry.
The same girl who shot me a dirty look a minute ago found her name, on the Clara desk, and sat on the chair.
"You're Clara?" I asked, shoving my crossed fingers into my pocket again.
"Obv-i-ous-ly!" Clara rolled her eyes. "Ugh, you little Miss Dumb Dumb!"
It was at recess that I got to meet all my classmates. I became friends with one of my classmates named Julia, and another named Callie. They were both nicer than Clara so far. Everyone I knew was nicer than Clara.
Clara and one of her new friends, Grace walked up to us. Clara whispered something to Grace, and they both put their hands on their hips.
"You guys shouldn't be here," Clara gave us a bratty look, but also with determined, squinted eyes.
"Yeah!" Grace shouted.
"You guys aren't good enough for this school," Clara said.
"Yeah!" Grace repeated.
"You guys should go to the school for dumb dumbs," Clara nodded.
"Yeah!" Grace said. I didn't know if she even understood anything, she just agreed with everything Clara said.
"We're leaving!" Clara stomped the ground and linked arms with Grace as they walked off together.
Grace shot us one last look. "Yeah!"
