What I found interesting about this book was the reviews for it! People either loved or hated it, both sides passionately.
You know, I can see it from both ends. Sure, the concepts are interesting. If it was cased in a plot that moved along a little better, like Kurt says, it would be a bit more interesting, a page turner even.
Maybe the people who were disappointed were expecting something more exciting, but were let down when it didn't live up to their expectations.

Quit possible, even probable. People sometimes don't judge a book by what's there, but by what they expect. As I said, all the elements were there. If this were baseball, I'd say Mr. Goodkind hit a triple. He didn't hit it out of the park.

Wizard's First Rule was actually an interesting book. There were interesting characters, different cultures, and a bit of action. While I liked to book, it didn't quite grab me for some reason. It wasn't exactly boring, but it wasn't a page turner. You know the type of book. You pick it up around 8pm, planning to read for a few hours before bed. At 6am you've finished the book and are cursing the author because you have to be at work by 8.
Wizards First Rule wasn't that kind of book for me. Anyone else have an opinion. Maybe you can pin point the element that was missing.
