The 5th Wave trailer recently released, so I was wondering what everyone thought about it. Did you like it? Did you hate it? Did you think it was okay? What was your favourite part?

I thought it was fantastic! It did a good job of explaining the premise without giving too much away. It also did a great job of luring in non book readers, while at the same time pleasing book readers. My favourite part when Cassie stumbles upon the man in the back of the store and they're both pointing the guns at each other.

I had NO idea it was even released until I joined the group/ saw this post!!! Obviously, I watched it immediately.

I agree, it was absolutely fantastic. It explained the Waves really well and gave us a good taste of everything that is to come. The special effects also looked amazing! I don't think I can pick a favorite part. The store scene was really cool and I definitely loved getting to see Evan :)

I thought the trailer was good, but I think Evan should've been in it more and that we should've seen more of before The Fifth Wave in the trailer to build up to it. My favorite part in the trailer was at the store with the crucifix soldier.But I think that they picked a great cast as well and i hope this movie does the book justice which it deserves.

I thought it was amazing, but why does Evan have BLUE eyes? He should have BROWN eyes. But otherwise it was amazing.

I think the casting is a bit off in this movie. I don't think Chloe Grace Moretz can pull off being as hard and tough as Cassie has to be. And I really like Nick Robinson, but I have a hard time buying him as a jock like Ben is supposed to be. I do find it interesting that they changed Reznick to a female and I think Maria Bello will be fantastic in the role. And Liev Shreiber as Vosch! Liev kills any role he is in so I know he is going to be awesome.

I didn't even know about the trailer until I joined up here. I wish there had been more to identify the enemy, but I can't wait for the movie to come out as a comparison to the book. I hope the character line up will do this justice. I won't make any judgements until I actually get to see the movie. Otherwise it is all speculation.

I didn't know about the trailer until I joined this group either! I thought the trailer was good. Actually said what the movie is about.

I loved the book! It was a book where I just couldn't put it down and i really hope the movie is as good!

I was worried about Chloe as well, we shall see! There is just no comparison to Jennifer Lawrence with The Hunger Games...

The trailer looks great! I'm even more excited to read the book now!!

I think the trailer is amazing and even though showing what happens before is building up the excitement, I think they should have left that out unless they are putting those parts in the movie. Mostly because people who haven't read the books are going to expect to see that and not appreciate the movie for the story it will show after these events occurred. But if they don't enjoy it at least we hopefully will.

I love the trailer like it explained enough but didn't give too much away :)

LOVE the actors that were chosen. Can't wait to see how the book is translated to film!

I didn't like the book that much it was good enough for me to read the second book but I don't like the girl they castes for Cassie .. Her acting is bad, and the trailer ruined it a bit because it looks like a typical alien movie lol I didn't find Cassie relatable I would have actually liked a different girl to play her that hasn't been in big movies because when I see her I don't think of her as Cassie I look at her for her other movies she's been in and the characters she portrayed .. But eh. I'll give the movie a shot.

Yes! As soon as I saw that she was cast, I was a little skeptical, but played out some of the lines and scenes in the book with Chloe's voice in mind, and then I realized they couldn't have chosen someone better.

IT was amazing!!! I am obsessed.

I completely agree about Chloe. I think they should have picked a different actress to play Cassie. Chloe just seems to soft and nice to play her.

Hollywood opens its worst movies in January. If the suits in Cali thought F.W. was good, it be coming out around now.

Not all of their worst movies open in January. Godzilla opened in May.

That trailer was epic I think I have watched like seven billion. I felt like it didn't give away to much of the plot but informed you of what it was about. (I have read the books and LOVED them) I love most of the casting and can't wait for the movie!!!!!!!

Good point! At the beginning when Cassie states how the human race was still living life normally before the first wave hit would have been good. Thinking about it I can't wait to watch this part.

She didn't act that way in the trailer. I know it's just a trailer, but still.

I haven't watched many movies starring with Chloe so, I guess time will tell. I totally agree, Liev looks perfect for the role of Vosch!

But the entire book keeps who the enemy is in the dark. I think it makes sense.

SAME! I couldn't put the book down, I took the hardcover around everywhere with me. I loved it.

I have to agree. It looks good for a typical alien invasion movie, but when you throw that background score in, it looks (and sounds) like everything else.

I'm afraid that it'll wind up being another invasion, unremarkable from other invasions.

Erma and Nadine I think you will both be shocked to see that the 5th wave is nothing like the typical invasion story. I avoid invasion science fiction like the plague. You won't see what's coming.

P. S. Ignore the trailer, it tells you nothing except a scare factor.

I pictured Evan and Cassie more attractive. I mean their attractive, but a lot more attractive if that makes sense. He should have brown eyes and I pictured him more superman kinda look. And the thing that really bugged, She should have strawberry blonde hair. I don't like her voice either, there's so much internal monologue and I pictured a certain sweet voice. Although I like the Ben actor cuz he's in Jurassicworld and I love all things JP. Sammy looks cute. We'll see though maybe when I see it I'll think differently about the cast. I'm just a bit picky cuz it's like top of favorite books.
