I love her books too but was expecting a real shocker of a secret with all the build up from the first book. The disappointment for me came with what the so called secret was. I hope she stepped her game up for the last two Crossfire books.
see, i think that you guys feel a little cheated or let down since it was so short and we're used to her longer installments to a series. What i think rang true here is that we have 2 strong leads, even 4 if you think about Afterburn and after shock as separates, and that's what she's known for - giving us characters that aren't weak and that can stand on their own regardless of what's going on.i wish that we got a bit deeper into the 'secret' and why it was such an issue - aside from the glossing over of the fear that history would repeat itself if Jax continued on into politics - but still...it was entertaining.
I was expecting so much more.Whole story was just vague.I wanted more story about jax family and politics.Hope this does not happen in Crossfire
I completely agree with all of you. I feel like Aftershock was a huge let down. I was expecting so much from this book. I guess with as great as the first one was and where it left off I thought that this one would be so much more. Day is a great author and I think with a little more effort Aftershock could have been really great!!!
I love Sylvia Day's work but honestly this book left me wanting more. I wasn't disappointed but really WANTED more. I agree with Ilanna that we may have been cheated. There was a lot of hype so I thought that more would be revealed. But I know that I will be waiting with anticipation for the next one!
:( yes it was painful to finish reading it... it was a chore .... hope she got paid a bucket load and can time to regroup and give us something worth reading
I feel like she left out the best part of the story. I am still hoping to read somewhere that there is a faulty copy published and the full story will be released soon..... Please????
I agree with all of you. I was happily reading along and then "bam" the end??? really? I loved the characters and I do love her books and the stories are great but I felt there should have been more. And yet I will be waiting impatiently for her next book!
She's starting to disappoint me more and more. It started with adding two more books to the Crossfire series. I was fine with that but not the book's release date issue.I really enjoyed the first one but this seemed so rushed. Especially the last chapter. It was like he was there, he was angry, then BOOM! Everything is resolved. I'm going to give her another try but maybe it's me.
