Children's Book Authors/Illustrators discussion

Hello GoodReaders!

I recently made the iBook version of my self-published book, "Wood Cake", FREE on iBooks. https://itunes.apple.com/dk/book/wood...

I'm having a hard time marketing it and would greatly appreciate any reviews you might write - either here, on iBooks!

Would also be interested in hearing if any of you have clever tips on how to get a book like this some attention!

Hi Luke,
I went to the link and there were two options. Buy for $5.99 or read a sample. The sample didn't include any pages. With that said, the screenshots were great. I love the illustration and the story is really cute and rolls off your tongue.
I am new to this and have had a hard time getting reviews. I think I am going to run a Giveaway with Goodreads. They say that 60% of the winners leave reviews. So 10 books, six reviews would be music to my ears.
If you want to send me a PDF let me know. I will read and leave a review on iBooks.

I guess I messed something up on iTunes - Wood Cake is now free once again. Be great if you could download it there and leave a review - if you feel moved to do so;)

Be great to hear more about the giveaway... do you have a link to where to get started?

Goodreads will run a giveaway promotion for your book. You pick a number of books to give away (must be paperback not ebook). You decide how many books you will give away they recommend at least 10. People enter for a chance to win 1 of XX number of books. They recommend running promotion for at least a month. You have to ship the winners the books within two weeks of when you are notified of winners. Search giveaways from your author dashboard. They say 60% of winners typically leave a review.

I am running one in September for first book, another in October for second, November for third, etc.

I am also going to promote via giveaway on The Children's Book Review since it is targeted at children.

Did you see my post earlier on 5 Girls Book Reviews. 5girlsbookreviews.blogspot.com. It is a mom and her 4 daughters. The daughters do the reviews so it is your target audience reviewing your book. Check it out.
