Jane (PS) | 24643 comments 1. Introduce yourself to your team. Definitely let your team members know where you are from. This is a 'nice to know' when categories are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.

2. Pick a Team Captain. The team captain will track the books read by the team and double-check that your book selection complies with the rules - eg make sure that the selection and completion posts are as per the formatting and information requested below (msg 3).

Anyone is free to ask questions in the Q&A/Announcement thread - here. If you are unsure, please ask.

Once a Captain has been decided, the Team Captain should reserve a couple of posts in this thread to track their team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert one of their chat comments to the tracking post/s.)

3. Name your team. This is not mandatory, but it is fun. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)

Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 9 September.

4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2.

5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!

* please don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.

You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.

I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.

Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.

6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation.

7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.

8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.

9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)

10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.

The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

Jane (PS) | 24643 comments Key selection and completion post information. You must have ALL elements in your book posts.

For the selection post Option 1 I need:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please insert a link to the qualifying bookshelf/list.
If the theme is based off the bookcover or a letter in the title etc, please just repeat the theme.

For the selection post Option 2 I need:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.

For the completion post I need:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.

If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

message 4: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24643 comments I'll be tracking each team's progress separately, using the Captain's summary in each team's thread to check for accuracy.

A summary chart will be posted in the last week to let teams know their progress against other teams :)

Hi

I am Mary and I live in Texas. This will be the third time, I think, that I have done this. I really did enjoy doing it before. I will read just about anything but the main categories are Romance, Mystery and Paranormal.

I'm not interested in being captain either. As I never know if I will have the time to devote to it.

Can't wait to start this round..

Little question to engage conversation !

What is the best book you read in the last month?

Elizabeth (elizabeth_greece) | 1918 comments Hi, everybody!
I'm Elizabeth, I live in Greece, which is GMT time+2 and I have participated in every PtP challenge so far. I read romance (M/F and M/M), paranormal and mysteries, mainly.
I'm not good at all with names suggestions.

I had no 5-star books but several 4-star, most of those were M/M romances.
Regarding to M/F romance, I just finished reading If You Only Knew, the newest novel by Kristan Higgins. She's my favorite contemporary author.
I also finished listening to the audiobook Grave Mercy yesterday and I enjoyed it very much.

I've never heard of Kristan Higgins before. But that's not very suprising as I do not read a lot of contemporary romance. Although these last two month I've started to get more interested in them. Maybe I should check that author :) Which book would you recommend?
Grave Mercy is on my tbr already.
And for the M/M romance, which were they?

message 16: by ClaireB (new)

ClaireB As for me I feel like I read mostly YA this last month. I enjoyed The Wrath and the Dawn a lot. I love fairy tales and it was interesting to read something based on non-Grimm/Anderson tales for once.
I also continued on the Georgina Kinsaid series (the succubus one) by Richelle Mead. I loved it. I hope one of our themes will allow me to read further. I only have two more books to read.

I love Georgina Kincaid!!
Never heard of The Wrath and the Dawn but YA and retellings are not my favorite genres. I may give it a try during the challenge, though, using your shelves instead of finding something that woulf fit the theme. Check my shelves for the M/M romances if you like, I'm not sure what you'd like to read.

Okay I'll take a look.
I usually read Paranormal MM, but it's getting old. It's always the same. I'm looking for good Contemporary ones right now. I'm waiting to have enough of them on my tbr to really get to it.

Elizabeth (elizabeth_greece) | 1918 comments Hey Nicole *waves*

So far, Angel, Mary and Nicole aren't interested in captaincy and are ok with the name Fantastic Four.
I like this name as well, so if Tabs and Raine like it we could go with it.
To tell the truth I'm not that interested to be a captain, since I'm a captain in another team challenge and I'll be busy with the new semester but if neither Tabs or Raine are interested I could do it.

message 25: by Raine (last edited Sep 08, 2015 07:59PM) (new)

Raine (raine_renner) | 380 comments Hi Everyone!

So sorry I hadn't checked in earlier, but I am currently on vacation and haven't had a chance to check GR all that much. I will still be on vacation until 9/16, but I should have a little more time to check GR on my iphone. If anyone needs to get a hold of me please PM me as it is hard to navigate GR on my phone.

I'm in Chicago (but currently in Orlando, Florida right now). I mostly read erotica - contemporary, sci-fi, bdsm, menage, and paranormal. I especially love alpha males, HEAs and prefer funny to sad/dark. Some of my favorite authors are: Kristen Ashley, M.K. Eidem, S.E. Smith, Aurora Rose Reynolds, Alexa Riley, C.C. Wood, R.L. Mathewson, Lolita Lopez, Roxie Rivera, Elle Kennedy, J. Daniels, and Jordan Silver.

Unfortunately, I too am not interested in being team captain since I just like to read, but if no one else is interested or too busy then I'd love to do it. Though I've done many, many challenges I haven't been captain for a team yet so everyone would need to be patient until I get the hang of it. Also my access to GR may be a little spotty since I am still on vacay.

I too like Fantasy Four because we're the fourth group, but maybe also something about romance or books?
Fantasy4Ever<3
Amour 4 Four
Daydream Four My Hero
Flirtation Station
Bodacious Bookettes
Romance Readettes
(UrbanDictionary states 'readette' means: a classy French/Northern European woman, who knows what she wants and gets what she wants, by the glint in her eye. A very kind hearted person with a wild streak...which often gets her in to trouble.)

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Raine

Whatever you all decide for a name is fine with me.

The reason I don't want to be captain is I am in a home school organization and have a bunch of groups I mod. My time is very limited anymore. That is what happens when you retire. You think it will be fun and games but little do you know they have plans for you.

The Dark Tide by Josh Lanyon
Date finished:9/13/2015
Rating: ★★★★
Review: Fifth and last installment in the Adrien English series, an engaging mystery and a resolution for Adrien and Jake. Jake was almost a different person in this book, a person I liked. He was supportive and caring, he gave Adrien time and space to decide what he wanted from their relationship. Adrien was recovering by his surgery, was a bit depressed but his humor was always present. Overall, a quite enjoyable read.

Forgive me for this opinion but I am never going to read another book that is YA. The heroine in this story is Kiera she is just so frustrating. Maybe I hold to much expectation. I just wanted to slap her and tell her to grow up. I felt sorry for Kellan Kyle and Denny she used them in different ways.
