I'm so happy to have you all reading Seduction with me. I thought I'd get started by giving you a little insight into the beginning of the book - which was the most difficult time I've ever had writing.

How could I try to write in Hugo's voice? What balls, right?

I gave up three times and it was only when -- in frustration-- I spilled a jar of antique pens on my laptop that I had the idea to write in pen & ink on paper - the way Hugo had - that I could begin to channel him.


I wrote all of it in daylight or by candlelight and used nothing electronic at all.

When I read it back for the first time, I didn't remember writing a single word.

A few people have asked me if I thought Hugo spoke to me - and while I am fascinated by the esoteric, I don't "believe" but at the same time I don't "not believe" either - so I just don't know what happened.
