I've had this on my to-read list for a long time now, so hopefully I'll get around to it this month. Sooo busy, though. >.<
I tried to read this back in September, but it was the one Philip K Dick book that I couldn't get into. I blame the fact that I was an East Asian Studies major at university and that I read a lot about WWII...it wasn't believable to me.That being said, I keep seeing all the ads for the mini-series on Amazon. Is anyone thinking of checking it out?
Kit, I read the book a few years ago and I also didn't enjoy it. I know Dick tends to be really weird in every book but in High Castle it was just wayyy to much for me. Immediately after finishing it I said to myself "I don't have any idea what just happened". I'm surprised to see that I gave it 3 stars. I guess it's because, like with 90% of dick's work, I liked it until the nonsensical ending.
The TV Show though is pretty good. They had the pilot streaming for free a while ago and then the second episode leaked. It honestly didn't seem to be anything like the novel, which I don't even remember all that well, but it was good if you ignored that it was adaptation a book poorly.
