Hello All,

I am so glad to have found this group via one of its members, Darrell Laurant. I moved to Saratoga Springs in August 2014 after a lifetime on Long Island. After a career in corporate public relations, I'm happy to be able to focus on the only thing I ever really wanted to do - write novels and articles.

It's great to know this group exists and, moreover, to be part of it.

You may want to look into Barnes & Noble in Saratoga's Sept. 25 - 27 second annual Author Showcase, an event tailored for authors who live or write regionally. It's partnered with the Adirondack Center for Writing.

Did anyone go to that author's showcase in Saratoga last year? What's the deal?

No, I didn't attend.

I did. They seat local authors throughout the bookstore. You don't have a chance to speak. Quite honestly I got nothing out of it beyond being introduced to and associated with the local writers community, and that was enough.

That works. Connections are all I'm really looking for.
