Tessa started to walk up the hill, trying to get to the top. She was still carrying her notebook, the same one from earlier. She hated the cat girl. She had found her quite annoying, and couldn't stand the fact that she was a cat. She imagined that this way, there would be no disturbance and she could quietly write in peace.... was that even possible?
Van sat on the edge of the hill, watching the sunset. It was so beautiful, with red and orange, and pink streaking across the sky. He almost wished he could touch it. The day had been long, and he was quite tired. He wanted to go back to his cabin, but he was worried that it might be full with his other cabin mates, and he didn't really feel like socializing with a bunch of little boys. He had met some of them, when he went to go put his stuff away, and they had all been immature and annoying.Instead Van would sit here, on the edge of the hill, until he was required to go back to his cabin. He didn't mind be alone, he liked it. It was peaceful and calm, and gave him time to think.
Tessa was finally up the hill, when she noticed someone else: Van. She didn't mind, as long as he wouldn't start bothering her. She looked at him again, and sat down not next to him, but maybe about fifteen feet away from him or so.
After getting out her pen, Tessa uncapped it and got ready for some writing. What was she writing, again? Right, she was trying to write a story. She normally didn't have much luck with writing.
Van noticed a girl sit next to him on the hill. He didn't really care that she was there, as long as she kept to herself. He didn't want to have a conversation with anyone right now, just think. He thought about a lot of things, about his mother and father, about camp, and about the future. His parents expectation of him was always to get married young, eighteen of nineteen, fight in the royal army, and then become king. He had always thought that's what he wanted, but maybe it wasn't. He didn't want to end up like his father, a cheater and liar. He wanted to be happy with his life, not struggling to keep on track.
Tessa looked around, and suddenly had another idea. Instead of writing. She'd do that later, after she did this. She started to draw Opal, but would make fun of her by making her look funny and terrible, like the terrible mermaid Tessa believed she was.
Tessa started with the eyes, and made them extremely wide and shocked looking. They were shocked because... yeah, because Tessa was about to kill her.
Van laid out on the hill, staring up at blue sky. It was a beautiful day, and there was hardly a cloud to be seen. It would have been a beautiful day back in his kingdom too. He would have trained in the earlier part of the day, then the rest of the time you would have found him reading in his favorite part of the castle. But things would never be like that again. He would never be able to face his father like before, never be able to enjoy a lazy afternoon without thinking of everything. His life was different now, and he had to deal with the changes. Van sat up and pulled his knees toward his head. He wrested his chin on them, and stared down at the ground. He turned his head and faced the girl. "What are you drawing?" He asked her.
Tessa looked away from her paper and to the boy, frowning. "The woman that made my life miserable," she said. She believed miserable was the right word, because it had always been how Tessa felt for years. Ever since she got thrown away.
((Sorry))"Oh." He replied simply. Van watched her sketch for a moment, paying attention to the way her hand moved across the page. He realized he was staring and quickly looked away, hoping she hadn't noticed. A cloud had started to move towards the sky, blocking the sun. That was like how the truth was for him, a cloud in a blue sky. But it hadn't been a blue sky before, he just couldn't see the dark cloud coming. Now that Van saw it, he wondered if he had been better off hidden from the truth, or in the light about things.
"Whose Disney child are you?" Tessa asked, very curiously. She didn't want to reveal who her's was, even though she wouldn't really care, but she was curious about Van's. She tended to like asking the same question to every camper she met.
"Snow White and Prince Charming's." Van revealed. He wasn't that worried about the girl knowing, since she didn't seem like the type to go blabbing it to the whole camp.
"Ursula. And don't go running away, I'm not going to use magic on you or anything," Tessa said. Unless he started attacking her, but that was very unlikely.
((xD))
