2015 Reading Challenge [Closed] discussion

I've read one of García Márquez's books before (and shockingly it was not One Hundred Years of Solitude) and I really enjoyed it, and since I was having trouble with this week and ended up finding it on a Love Triangle list, I thought it was the perfect time to read another of his books.

It was definitely a good book, but it was one of those books where I enjoyed the prose more than the story. I found the romance between two of the characters kind of unbelievable and one sided, which probably contributed to making the book less enjoyable for me. That said, I did really like how it was written - going back and forth between the present and the past, and I did enjoy a lot of the characters and I loved the writing.

I really wish Goodreads allowed half-points because even though I rated it as being 3/5, I felt like it was more a 3.5/5 stars.
