message 3: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments the bad news is that its only going to be like 2hrs long (the books in the series are all like 95-150pgs)

Daydreamer | 1 comments I will get this ...just for SAM HEUGHAN (starry eyed)

message 5: by Natalia (new)

Natalia (natilia) | 18 comments What makes me laugh thinking is, if he narrate using an American accent or known Scottish accent? xD

I would assume he will use his normal voice, which is a modern Scottish accent.

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments i think it will depend on what the characters call for - a good narrator adapts his voices to the character

message 8: by Arlene (new)

Arlene | 255 comments I have the audio book and listened to it. His dulcet tones were wonderful to hear. The book, kind of a Sci Fi YA book was amusing for me. For the most part he is a narrator so no voices are necessary. He does attempt a NY accent, but it was like someone from NY who went to a prep school! He is forgiven.

WHAT??? OMG YES YES YESSS

message 10: by Arlene (new)

Arlene | 255 comments Got the book through Audible. It's not my genre, but listening to Sam's dulcet tones was enjoyable, except, he doesn't do a New York accent too well. Other than that, Sigh!

Slip! | 89 comments What was it again? I'm so getting it.

message 12: by Slip! (new)

Slip! | 89 comments Wait is it a series? Cuz the description made no sense.

message 13: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments its part of a spin-off series

message 14: by Slip! (new)

Slip! | 89 comments So you don't have to have read it in order to keep up?

Aura | 9 comments Aяуα wrote: "So you don't have to have read it in order to keep up?"

You do have to read it in order. I'm a fan of that series and I've read every book. The novelette Sam narrated is part of a companion series for the fans, so it wouldn't make any sense if you haven't read the main series.

message 16: by Brigitte (new)

Brigitte (brigdandrea) | 3 comments I have obviously missed something big. What "novelette" has Sam Heughan narrated in the series?

message 17: by Slip! (new)

Slip! | 89 comments See above to opening thread post

message 18: by Brigitte (new)

Brigitte (brigdandrea) | 3 comments Oh, so it isn't a Gabaldon book.

Too bad I don't really TV much....

message 23: by Rosemary (new)

Rosemary | 18 comments Neither do I. I never saw the show. How can we watch TV when there are so many books to read.

message 24: by Patty (new)

Patty I love James Corden on the Late Late Show but of course it's on late. I was hooked on it a year ago when I had surgery and was on medical leave, my sleep times were all over the place so most of the time I was awake until 3am. After a month I was back to work and had to stop being a night owl. They do put a lot of his show on you tube so I'm sure you will be able to see Sam. I will dvr that episode, if I remember!

message 25: by Silverblades (new)

Silverblades | 265 comments The best of the interview will go on youtube.

message 26: by Arlene (new)

Arlene | 255 comments Thank God for DVR! I have the episode slated to record. Just a build up to seeing Sam in the Tartan Day Parade on April 9th in NYC!! I am also going to take a peek at the Outlander costumes being displayed in the windows of Sacks 5th Avenue.

message 27: by Lis (new)
