Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
[4/5 stars and I absolutely enjoyed it]
Wow, I really really enjoyed this. I knew the Rubies had the better book stack. So far, I've been rating required reading books 2-3 stars. But this book deserves a solid 4 like I can't even. I have just finished this book and I absolutely adored it, although I really would consider this speculative fiction as it has an undertone to the plot that makes you think, What is empathy? Why are some people this way? Real or fake?
This book was set in the year 2021, I believe, and World War Terminus has happened. Rick Deckard, our main character, is an android "killer" who works for the S.F. Police and this book just follows him over the span of 1 night when major things went down.
I really enjoyed this book. The writing style wasn't really my thing as I usually go for poetic-esque writing. The plot was a been there done that type of story and I've seen it before. But what did it for me was the message that the author has subtly woven through the story, focusing on topics of things we often see in everyday life like empathy, and some heavier ones relating to reality. It just makes you think and suprisingly it was an intellectually very dense book so I wouldn't recommend you read this if speculative fiction isn't your cup of tea since the ending itself is just left for you to interpret as you will.
Overall I enjoyed this and I really thought that the message Phillip K Dick tried to send out was done in such an exciting yet very beautiful way. I would recommend this book for people who love speculative fiction but people trying to get into Sci-Fi should try something else before this one, unless you already enjoy speculative fiction. Even if Phillip K. Dick left many questions unanswered, that's the beauty of it. I really really genuinely enjoyed it and I'll give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Yasmin Nur Helisa | 19 comments Hello everyone. I have just read the book “Great Gatsby” by F.Scott Fitzgerald. This is a romantic novel about a very rich man named Gatsby who is looking for a woman who will truly love him. Because of Gatsby’s fame and wealth, he is always surrounded by a lot of people. Women adore him so much. Gatsby is always suspicious with those women who like to be with him. He is thinking that those women like him because of his wealth. Is Gatsby able to find a woman who will truly love him? Is there really a true love for the great Gatsby? Well, it’s for you to find out. So, I recommend this book to those who love to read romantic novels. As for me, I would rate this book 2/5 since I don’t really like romantic novels. :-P

User | 19 comments hello! so the book i read was Sense and Sensibility. honestly, i think that this book is quite boring since it is the type of book i like to read. the story is about two sisters who are very different from each other. one is very calm, can be relied on, and gives common sense answers and opinions. however, the other sister is all sensibility, full of passionate and romantic feeling. she had "no time for common sense." i dont really recommend this book to people who dont like stories that are not fun and interesting. i give this book a 2/5, that's all, bye!

Chu Wei | 17 comments Heat and Dust 1800 Headwords by Clare West It is so bad. This book is so bad that I can sleep. This book is not good at all. If Ms.Shahidna says its good, it is not good at all! It is a DIARY!!!!!!!!! Only a
person who likes Anne Frank will like it. It is about a Indian, so maybe Sid will like it but I do not. Like Anne Frank it is also taken place at war.

Peace off, WEIRONG
