Kirsten (kmcripn) Audible.com's editors have created 12 college courses and required reading for the courses. Course #1 is Alcoholic America.

Audible editor Diana D.: "I took a fascinating course called ‘Alcoholic America’ that met on Friday mornings at 8am, so only ‘serious’ students would take it…as opposed to those who thought it would be about drinking games. There we focused on the role of alcohol in literature and American culture, and I discovered one of my favorite books, Revolutionary Road, which will resonate with fans of Mad Men."

The book list:

Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates
Drinking: A Love Story by Caroline Knapp
Blackout: Remembering the Things I Drank to Forget by Sarah Hepola
Best Kept Secret by Amy Hatvany
Big Sur by Jack Kerouac
The Long Goodbye by Raymond Chandler
The Lost Weekend by Charles Jackson
Leaving Las Vegas by John O'Brien
Drunk Mom by Jowita Bydlowska
Drunkard: A Hard-Drinking Life by Neil Steinberg
Dry by Augusten Burroughs
Lit by Mary Karr
Last Call: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition by Daniel Okrent
Alcoholics Anonymous Deluxe Edition by Bill W.
America Walks Into a Bar: A Spirited History of Taverns and Saloons, Speakeasies and Grog Shops by Christine Sismondo

Any feedback? Can you think of any books you'd add?
