DC on TV discussion

I've been vocal in the Goodreads Feedback group and the Goodreads Librarian group on how silly the comic policy is.

To recap:

They wouldn't allow comics because they have no ISBNs, yet we allow books and older material without ISBNs

They allow digital comics because they have ASIN, but this makes little sense to cut out physical comics just because they don't have it when they allow books without ISBN's.

Now, *facepalm*, they have changed their policy to allow coloring books (and sudoko puzzles, and fanfiction off the internet) but are still saying no to comics.

As I'm sure many here know, a lot of readers grew up on comics and that's how they fell in love with reading. Comics are one of the top collected sources of reading material, for people tracking down editions and tracking collections. It would only make sense to me they would officially allowed to be tracked on a reading website, but apparently not.

Graphic novels are allowed - however, graphic novels by definition are technically works created outside comic form as one large individual story, such as Watchmen. People nickname graphic-novel lookalikes that collect several comic editions in one bulk as Graphic novels, although they are more of a collection piece.

Thanks, Erin, for posting this! I didn't realize it. But it is kind of crazy. Here's hoping they make the official change for comic books soon.
