In this amazing fantasy BIG FISH by Daniel Wallace, William Bloom wants to learn who his father is but there is a problem, Edward Bloom (Father/Main Character) will not open up, and he is dying. When Edward was born a miracle was performed, it rain in his town (Ashland, Alabama) when there had not been rain for years. When he grew up he decided he wanted to move away and discover the world. At his first job he met the most beautiful girl in Alabama, Sandra Kay Templeton. And he wanted to marry her, just like every other boy in Auburn, except one was lucky and she was engaged to another man. Something was different about Edward though, he could tell a good joke.On one eventful date they went on, the fiancé wanted to fight for her, Sandra became Williams mother. After many more adventures of Edward they decided to have William. On the day Will was born Auburn won their first game of football in years, a miracle. Edward developed the need to be in a different place every week, so he was barely around. Edward had so many stories and jokes that whenever Will asked him a question he would answer with a story or joke, so he never got close. And this continued up until his death. Edward was very ill and swimming was his only exercise and one day he went swimming and what happens next? You will have to read this book to find out. I recommend this book to any son that love his father and a good joke or two.
