Welcome to a group specifically for the INFJ Myers-Briggs personality type and those who identify as being empathic! Please take a moment to introduce yourself to the rest of the group.

Feel free to mention your Myers-Briggs type as well as whether you are an empath, highly sensitive person or any other information about your unique personality.

I will go first to get the ball rolling. My name is Jennifer Soldner and I am an INFJ, empath (or clairsentient) and highly sensitive person. To my current awareness, I am empathic towards individuals, animals, objects and locations.

It is my hope that this group is a safe space to share books specifically geared towards our personality type. After introducing yourself, please feel free to take a moment to add some books for others to read. Discussions are welcome and highly encouraged!

It is so nice to meet you all!

Absolutely and welcome! INFPs and INFJs share so many traits that there is much we can gain from one another. Every type is welcome in this group!

C.L. Denault (cldenault) Hey there, Jennifer - I'm long overdue for an intro, so here goes! I'm an INFJ and would say my empathic ability depends on where I'm at in life. As a caregiver for a special needs son, I've been sheltered at home for many years and am a bit out of touch with the community. When I'm involved in a church or other organization, though, I find that I'm very sensitive to other people's needs and emotions (religious people will say I'm prophetic, and non-religious folks will joke that I'm psychic). The more I'm involved with people, the stronger the impact.

Books that have helped me are "The Introvert Advantage" by Marti Olsen Laney, and--of course--your book, "A Look Inside A Rare Mind". I have your "The Empathic INFJ" on my list, too. Definitely need to find more time to read. :)

Glad to be out here!

Jeff Maehre | 1 comments Hi, everyone,
I think I'm a strange kind of empath--sometimes I feel badly for something someone else did or due to something suffered by someone near me.
Anyway, some version of that is probably good for a writer.

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 2 comments Welcome, welcome to the land of people creepily exactly like you!
Here you'll find:
-Mirrors of your own opinions

And much, much more!

(I was trying for a caesar flickerman kind of thing but it didn't work. I'm an INFP btw but there is no INFP group so I thought I was close enougj to qualify.))

message 8: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Meyers | 1 comments Hi there! My name is Kelly. I've just this past year came to find out I am an INFJ and reconnect with my clairsentient nature, and spirituality in general. Its as if my 3rd eye was just opened one day and my nature came flooding back to me. Since then I've been on a journey of self discovery, spiritual growth, and trying to tear down my ego. So many things and information has been pouring into me and I've really no one whom I can share my experiences and sights to without fear of being ostracized or labled crazy. I'm hoping to reach out and find people who are experiencing similar things in their life.
I've always been extremely intuitive and sensitive. Animals and plants seemed to communicate to me in a way more easily understood (or rather, felt than humans), I've been able to feel emotional imprints in homes and structures, some people seem to gravitate to me like I'm a shady tree in the dessert, I cannot stand large crowds or chaotic environments. Aside from all this I get impressions, unbiden, from people that are either insights into their nature or future events yet to come. I also see energy all around. Whether as fields, auras, or just energy in the air. I know this is a lot, but I'm hoping maybe someone here can relate to something. Can't wait to hear! Thanks!

Elke Silvarain (elkesilvarain) | 1 comments Hello fellow INFJs!

I thought you might be interested in a blog I just wrote about being an INFJ writer: https://elkesilvarain.co.uk/2017/01/08/an-infj-writer-the-pros/

That pretty much introduces me :) I'm an INFJ and HSP (highly sensitive person) so definitely an empath. An over-empath really... As you may read in my blog, my INFJ personality type has everything to do with my writing, which I think is a good thing. I'm hoping to connect with other INFJs/HSPs.

Anthony (tonydag) | 1 comments Hi,

Greetings from Northern New Mexico. INFJs are my favorite people. I never seem to meet any in person. If there were more in my general vicinity I'd probably be more of an ENFP. I'm curious to see what everybody is reading. Thank you for having me in the group.

Kathy Pickett | 1 comments Hi all,
I myself am an INFJ and am so glad to have found this group! I currently have an ad running on how you can win a free copy of my new book--Spirit and Belief! Check out my website:wwwspiritandbelief.com My book discusses how you can use your intuitive gifts everyday and I detail personal stories of how it worked for me. I hope to connect with some of you and share your interests!

Vivian | 1 comments Hey everyone, I'm Vivian and it's nice to meet other INFJs and even any INFPs :) Being too empathetic is something I am definitely working on! My favorite book is whichever one I am reading at the moment, which is constantly changing....

message 14: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 1 comments Hello. I am Amanda, an INFJ, and an empath. I love sunlight, trees, and books. Ideally, I am with a book under a tree under the sun's warm light. I actually swap back and forth between I and E depending on where I am. I both get scared and lead, easily.

Rick Novak | 3 comments Hello:
My name is Rick Novak. I'm an INFJ artist and writer. I'm new to Goodreads, I just published my first book "Eyes of an Artist" and I'm hoping to get to know all of you because I feel we as a sensitive minority can find strength and encouragement in one another.

message 17: by Rick (new)

Rick Novak | 3 comments Jeff, I think it's great for a writer. Go for it

You see it, that's truly special.

message 19: by Kunal (new)

Kunal Rao (holykrao) | 1 comments Hi my name is Kunal and im an INFJ. Found out about 2 years and have spent most of my time since then devouring books on the topic.
Do you guys have book recommendations for the same?

message 21: by Gladys (new)

Gladys (gladyzzz) | 1 comments Greetings,

Recently, I learned of the label INFJ personality type. I am unfamiliar with this type, but I am eager to learn more now that I've been told that I am an INFJ advocate/counselor type. I'm an empath and highly sensitive to energies and vibrations. I'll check out the titles listed on this thread. Thank you all for the group.

message 22: by Benjy (new)

Benjy Sherer | 1 comments Hey everyone! I know this group isn't exactly 'active', but I'm going to post this anyway.

I am a fellow INFJ empath, and am SUPER excited to be publishing my first 2 books this month on that topic. I am an emotional wellness and awakening mentor, teaching emotional mastery through self love and shadow work, and my first book, 'Feelings First Shadow Work' has already been getting some amazing advanced reading reviews outside of Goodreads, and I'd like to start spreading the word here.

I'm offering an eBook version to anyone who resonates with the description below and wants to read it, in exchange for an honest review here on Goodreads.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to sharing this wisdom with you!

(NOTE - No limit on the amount of giveaways).

-------------

The biggest misconception around emotional healing that keeps people going in circles for years or even decades is that it is an intellectual activity. Most likely you’ve been trying to solve your emotional issues by searching for the root cause, right? Trying to track down the initial core trauma that happened? Trying to figure out all the psychological logic behind your harmful patterns? That’s ALL intellectual.

Inner healing is not intellectual, it’s emotional. Shadow work is not about chasing down all your past trauma. It’s about learning how to release all the unresolved emotions inside of you. It’s about building emotional muscle and confronting the uncomfortable feelings that come up in a healthy way that allows us to release them. Healing can be simple. It can be about feeling good, instead of analyzing your pain.

In this book, I’ll show you how to bypass your brain and connect directly to your heart to release your past triggers and traumas so that you can start living without fear, guilt, shame, anxiety, and more...

Thank you for joining me on this journey.
