Ashton rushed into the drama room, knowing he was late, but hoping that the teacher wouldn't care.
Alexandra looked up as Ashton entered, she was already seated in the back row, notebook open and pen doodling images
Ms Hamilton bustled into the room, shiny blonde hair up in a high ponytail. "Hello everyone! Beautiful day isn't it? Wonderful day to learn!" she giggled and perched upon her desk
Levi burst into the room looking flushed. He had been told not enough people signed up for law and because of this they would be putting him into drama. He was infuriated, that being the absolute last class he would ever want to go near let alone be in, but they said he couldn't argue his schedule till the second week of classes. It was bad enough that he was late. He mumbled an apology then quickly found a seat in the back of the room.
Ashton tossed Alexandra before taking the open seat beside her. He saw that someone had also entered late as well, and didn't feel as embarrassed now. He turned his head to see it was Levi. He had seen him around but never really talked to him. He ended up seating between the two of them in the back, and quickly got out his notebook.
Alexandra gave Ashton a small smile, before turning to face Ms. Hamilton, the woman who she had seen in the hall previously.
"Ah, you must be Mr. Grayson?" Ms Hamilton said to the boy who had rushed in, "Welcome to drama!" she smiled beautifully

Levi's face burned bright red. Avoiding eye contact he nodded, hoping that would be enough of an answer.
Gwen walked in and sat on the other side of Ashton. No one ese she realy knew here. She opened her notebook, why would she need a notebook for drama?
Gwen looked past Ashton and saw Alexandra was in here too, she waved and mouthed "Hi."
Alexandra began to doodle in her notebook.
"I'll just take attendence quickly" Ms Hamilton said with a smile, "Then we're going to take a look at Hamlet"

Ashton's whole face brighten when he saw Gwen, and he quickly waved her over, "Hey," he responded, as he sent her a cute boyish smile that put his dimples on display. He could sense Alexandra's discomfort, and was unsure of why it was occurring.
"HEY."Gwen whispered, "I didn't know you'd be in this class."
She didn't think he would like this class..,
She didn't think he would like this class..,
Alexandra continued to draw, sketching buildings and architecture. She just wanted for this class to be over.
Ms.Hamilton went from desk to desk, passing out worn copies of Hamlet to each student. "This is the first play we are going to study. We're going to read it, and also act out certain scenes that teach us important parts of acting."
Alexandra smiled at the book, cracking it open and smelling to beautiful scent of old books.

Gwen opened the book, she loved just getting something and being able to read as much of it as she liked. Shakespeare, she'd only done Julius Ceaser by him so far..
"I didn't either," He grinned, as he playfully shot her another grin. He took the book that the teacher handed out in his hands, and started to flip through it as the teacher continued to talk. He always wanted to be an actor, this is way he decided to join this class, his cock his head to the side as he turned in towards Gwen, "I didn't know you liked acting."
"I do, alot." She whispered quietly as she wet through the pages. "Do you?" She questioned, looking up at him.
Alexandra did her best to ignore their friendly banter. If it was going to be like this all semester, she'd go insane. As she continued to draw, she kept thoights of after school in her mind
"Yeah. I love acting," Ashton blushed slowly, as he pulled out his notebook out of his bag before turning towards Alexandra, "What about you, do you like acting?"
Alexandra shrugged, "It's kind of part of my career...but I do enjoy it, I suppose."
"Alright let's crack these open!" Ms Hamilton said enthusiastically

"like an egg." Gwen laughed quietly.
Levi fiddled with his book wondering if it was required to act out the parts. He could handle reading by himself, but no way would he perform in front of everyone.
Ashton nodded he was going to continue the conversation but then the teacher had spoken, and he was quick to be silence. Ready to listen, ready to learn.
"So" Ms Hamilton began, "The first scene begins on a platform before the castle. Today, we're going to start off easy. Read the first scene and be prepared to discuss afterwords." She smiled cheerfully.
Alexandra opened her book and began to read. She was a fast reader, and was done quickly. She loved reading. It was one of her passions

Ashton was quick to read the scene as well. He had already read the play before from fun during his summer last year, and already knew what was going to happen. He noticed the boy seated next to him was fiddling with his book. He remembered seeing him at Tyson's party.
After the class had finished reading, Ms Hamilton spoke again, "Alright, so now we are opening discussion. Anyone like to share first?"
"Well, Mr. Hamilton, I believe that the ghost gives a supernatural aspect to the story. The supernatural appearance of the ghost on a chilling, misty night outside Elsinore Castle indicates immediately that something is wrong in Denmark. The ghost serves to enlarge the shadow King Hamlet casts across Denmark, indicating that something about his death has upset the balance of nature. The appearance of the ghost also gives physical form to the fearful anxiety that surrounds the transfer of power after the king’s death, seeming to imply that the future of Denmark is a dark and frightening one. Horatio in particular sees the ghost as an ill omen boding violence and turmoil in Denmark’s future, comparing it to the supernatural omens that supposedly presaged the assassination of Julius Caesar in ancient Rome. Since Horatio proves to be right, and the appearance of the ghost does presage the later tragedies of the play, the ghost functions as a kind of internal foreshadowing, implying tragedy not only to the audience but to the characters as well," Ashton stated, excitedly, Hamlet was one of his all time favourite plays, and he was always eager to search his thoughts. He noticed a few of the students looking at him strangely since of course it was Ashton Komo saying this. He then cleared his throat and quickly shrugged as he leaned back in his chair and said, awkwardly, "Or so I heard."
"Wonderful job Mr. Komo" ms hamilton beemed at him, "anyone else have a say on the text?"
Alexandra sat quietly, taking.notes on her idea of analysis, but decided not to speak up on the matter

"Ophelia, I like her."
Gwen said.
(no idea what its about really.)

Alexandra piped up "the ghost is immediatly connected to the theme of revenge, especially Fortinbra's, which is foreshadowing as well as showing that all father-son relationships are tinted with revenge. This scene, while seemingly irrelivent, actually mirrors themes central to the purpose of the play. Appearance and reality are disparate entities that contradict one another." She said shyly.
"Very nice" Ms Hamilton replied,, "and what do you think on Ophelia?" She asked Gwen

"She's strong for standing up to her dad by pursuing the prince.. She could stand up for herself.."
(I think that's right)

((don't worry i spark noted ;) ))
Ashton admired Alexandra's analysis of the text, and he torn his gaze away from her once Gwen started talking about Ophelia. He ran a hand through his dishevelled hair wondering how the other girls were surviving the day, along with Damien.

Alexandra went back to scribbling in her notebook, and sketching out the scene they had just depicted. She had done her participation for the day.
"Alright" m hamilton said, "now we're going to break up into groups of four to read and analyze the Next scene, ok?"
"Alright" m hamilton said, "now we're going to break up into groups of four to read and analyze the Next scene, ok?"
"You may choose them yourselves" Ms Hamilton smiled, "I trust you're responsible enough for that?" she raised an eyebrow
She turned to Ashton. "Can we be in a group? And then.." She looked around the room.
Alexandra remained quiet in her seat. She dreaded group work with people she didn't know. It gave her anxiety
Gwen turned to Alexandra, "Do you want to be in our group?" She looked at Ashton, "At lest I think we're in a group."
"Ya, your nice and I don't know anyone else in here. And I asked you, didn't I? Why would I ask you to be in my group if I didn't like you?"
Levi snapped his pencil in half when the teacher said they had to work in a group and they had to pick their partners. It was bad enough working with other students, but couldn't she assign the partners? He didn't remember speaking to a single person in the room.
Gwen turned to Levi. "You ok dude?"
He mumbled an,"I'm fine," and looked away. In his head he could hear Keira laughing at him. She never understood his social awkwardness. It wasn't like he was geeky or unattractive. Physically, he should be popular. But, he never felt like he belonged at this school. And while Levi actually did want to talk with people, he could never find the words. He wasn't like Keira who chose to be hostile 95% of the time.
"Ok," Gwen turned back to Ashton and decided to forget about him.
"So, this group thing, what do we had to do again?" Ashton asked as he ran a hand through his dishevelled brown locks. He had zoned out for part of the conversation, "Have you guys got anything down for the analysing part?"
Alexandra looked down at her notes. She had read this play before, several times actually, but she just felt like staying quiet for the moment. Taking her pen, she shaded the words she had already written: problem of discerning between appearance and reality
Ashton started to read the scene and dotted a few things done with his sloppy handwritting, "Guys. I think I found a theme of some sorts," he started to read his notes from his lined piece of paper that was covered in scribbles, "The result of all this blatant dishonesty is that this scene portrays as dire a situation in Denmark as the first scene does. Where the first scene illustrated the fear and supernatural danger lurking in Denmark, the second hints at the corruption and weakness of the king and his court. The scene also furthers the idea that Denmark is somehow unsound as a nation, as Claudius declares that Fortinbras makes his battle plans '[h]olding a weak supposal of our worth, / Or thinking by our late dear brother’s death / Our state to be disjoint and out of frame'. What do you guys think? Does it make sense, or am I just high?" He joked, he wasn't a person that would do any drugs. It was only a figure of speech. He had a strong love of this play. He read it multiple times and for some reason it touched him.
ALexandra nodded gently, "This scene also highlites a few other father/son relationships" she said softly, "Hamlet's soliloquy is obviously important. It shows how he wants to die. He doesn't even know of his father's murder yet, and he is already welcoming death."
"Almost like foreshadowing," Ashton responded with a bright grin, as he nodded in agreement. He liked how it seemed that Alexandra was also familiar with the book. That it occurred to him, they had plans to hang. He thought Alexandra seemed cool, he hoped Gwen understood that he wanted nothing more than to be friends with Alexandra.
