Randomly picked this book up at work and it actually turned out to be pretty good! :) Plot weakened as the novel progressed, but I really enjoyed learning a little about the Gold Coast.

I have loved all of Mr. DeMille's novels. I especially recommend Up Country, The Charm School, The General's Daughter, Plum Island, Spencerville, and The Quest (2013 version). His monthly newsletters are a hoot!
