2015 Reading Challenge [Closed] discussion

A client dropped into my place of work to hand me this book. We had been discussing our favorite authors the day before and I had mentioned this challenge.

While I do read many books with magic I wanted to try a new author. She suggested this series.

It was a great surprise to have her drop it off.

The story starts off as very dark. A place that has absolutely no redeeming qualities. Then enters the main character and I found myself asking so many questions.
How does a person stay true to their beliefs when surrounded by those who are constantly attacking those beliefs. This is a story about being true to one's self.
I am very glad that I stuck with the book, and will be reading the others in the series.
