Where do you go to buy books in Karachi?

It depends on whether I was looking for a specific title or just browsing for interesting stuff to read. If the former, usually Libery Books would have what I need, although a bit higher priced than other options. For just browsing, I often try all the stalls at Sunday Bazaar and for other days of the week, there is a great used book store at Boat Basin that I've forgotten the name of but is the only store of that kind there so easy to spot.

I think I know the used book store at Boat Basin you are talking about. It's next to Baloch Icecream, right?

And yes, I think that is the same book store. Great place and the owner actually sorts his books by genre, which is really refreshing (and easy to look through).
Sunday bazaar, book stalls near expo center, kitabain.comKitabain is probably the best with a diverse collection. Most book stalls carry the usual classic/trashy lit combo.
I also went to regel last week and found some great books for dirt cheap. 200 for 5 books and good ones at that. Henry miller, proust, some classics in hardback.
I never buy from liberty anymore. Too expensive. Its usually cheaper to buy off of amazon and get some relative to bring it along.
The bookstore at boat basin is mr old books, they have a great collection but i think they recently moved.
Thank you all for the helpful suggestions. After going through all the above I have made a list as follows for the best places to buy books (best first)1) Sunday Bazar
2) Readings Website (Excellent prices and delivery)
3) Oldbook stalls near Bait ul Mukaram (There are 3 stalls which are haven for fiction lovers like me)
4) Kitabain.com
5) Liberty (with Book club card)

Maria wrote: "Does anyone use Fabingo.com? What do you think about it?"It's a good website.. but well, I ordered a book last year in October and received it in February. I actually ordered three books and the two of them arrived on time laikin the third one took months. :/
Maria wrote: "Oh. Did you make a complaint then?"I called them in December and they were like "the book will be back in stock in January" but nope I got it this month. But it's not with all of the books because the other two books arrived on time but this one was so, so, so late.

How come I never saw a single stall at Sunday Bazar !!!Safari park wala sunday bazar or some other ?
well i wait all year for expo book fair. I love to visit book fair such refreshing for me to see ppl buying books in this digital era.
global books import is the best option right now they have all the books and if they don't have one then they will arrange it and most important in low price with delivery services. i tried them many times and they are best with their service.

Ohh that happened to me too! But ovrall the website is cool... it has the potential to leave me empty pocket tho 😅
There is an old book shop in Saddar "Tit bit books store", the guy there sells books at fairly discounted prices. Even if he does not have your required book, he will arrange it in a couple of days. I mostly buy from him and liberty books, when they have this "Karachi Book Bazar"

I go to local bazar, urdu bazar and also book fair like Karachi Internation Book Fair and Karachi Literature Festival.
there is a book mart in malir cantt which do have quiet a reasonable collection but if i want to do some serious buying then urdu bazaar and liberty books are the best bet
could any body confirm that urdu bazaar is moving out of its original place and shifting to a mall at Rashid Minhas road?
Saad wrote: "could any body confirm that urdu bazaar is moving out of its original place and shifting to a mall at Rashid Minhas road?"Yeap... Millennium Mall

I normally look for the old books first at Sunday Bazar or the ones on University Road. Second option is Kitabain.com and last comes Liberty.
