I finished this morning. (view spoiler)[ I have to say, I am not a cat lover and I almost gave up before I gave it my standard three chapter effort, but made it past chapter 5 before I noticed...and I almost quit when the cat started talking, but the tough and beautiful girl cat entered the story and it became more interesting. Then, I almost quit when the lady turned into yet another talking cat, I mean, really? Overall, I enjoyed this decent mystery with a library connection; basically, it was a satisfying read...once I got past the magical talking cat stuff :-) I give it 3 Stars. (hide spoiler)]

I have read the first Warriors book, "Into the Wild". I actually liked it a lot more than this cat mystery. Maybe because real cats are doing(mostly)realistic cat things? Yes, it is "fantasy" in that the reader can understand the cats' dialogue, but they are not speaking aloud as humans. :-) House cat, Rusty, abandons the safety and comfort of his home for a chance at an adventure-filled life with a local band of feral cats. This well-written story reads like a "Watership Down" with cats, with the same kind of traditional tales and lore of cat-ancestors, adventures amongst humans and other creatures, quests, good versus evil cats, etc. The series goes on and on, and has lots of adventure and action. I would recommend this for boys or girls ready for a 4th grade reading level. (Plus: There are more Erin Hunter series featuring Bears and Dogs.)Karin wrote: "I'm wondering, Anne, if you've read any of the Warriors series books by Erin Hunter? Teens and kids have raved about how wonderful those are to me... And if so, did you like those?
As for "Cat o..."
