Heidi | 3 comments “I am Malala. My world has changed but I have not. ” Malala said it in her last pages and we can understand this sentence completely after reading the novel. This summer I read I am Malala which is the autobiography of Malala who is born in 1997 in Pakistan.

The whole story took place in Pakistan and it’s about the life of Malala, from her birth to days after the shoot. Malala had a happy childhood playing crickets and visiting her grandpa. Then Malala went to school and was a top student in her class while her father was building a school which Malala soon studied in. Later on, a militant group called Taliban appeared and years later the fight between her family, especially her father and her, with Taliban began. Malala and her father always spoke out for education under the great threats from Taliban. Then Taliban had been wiped out by the army but the rest of Talibs who were still out there came to Malala and her family and Malala was shoot by a Talib. There are three main character in the book, Malala the protagonist, Malala's father who plays the most influential and important role in Malala's life and the Taliban they all fought against for.

I think all the people can read this book if they have a chance and I strongly recommend it. If people think all the autobiographies are boring and tedious, this book will prove they are wrong. Malala cleverly used interesting daily moments to intersperse the serious of violence and gunfire, which makes readers comfortable. I want more people to support her, understand her and stand by her and reading this book. Her contribution for education and braveness is worth known and learnt by each one of us. Her determination and insistence had throughout the whole book. Even though Malala has gone through so many things we will never experience in our entire life, she’s still an ordinary girl who plays cricket with her brothers and chats with her friends in classroom. It’s so precious that a girl can still keep her kindness and hope and positive attitude for life after all these things. I respect her and I believe she will continue keeping them in her heart.

Abby | 8 comments This review was very well written and was very detailed. I especially liked the reviews at the end, as well as the section that explained how the book connected to real life.
