This was my first Monk book and found it pretty good. The good thing about reading it is that it is pretty much non-canon to the tv show and people who have never seen it would still be introduced to the "Obsessive Compulsive Detective" well I think.

I haven't watch much Monk on tv and this was my first book too.. and I read almost half of it this morning. For change, something easy reading and omg Hawaii sounds so amazing (it so fall weather here). I have been enjoying this so far, I imagine character much as tv show and it works fine, I like it too that it is not csi style stuff, more Sherlock like reasoning. And it is fun.
Yes I love the humor and that makes it fun and the scenery of Hawaii isn't too bad either!
