Brain Soup Goes Gilmore discussion

So many versions of these classic stories have been told! Which is your favorite? What differences do you like or dislike? Has something not been done with a story that you would like to see?

I have to say I'm a little surprised by the Wizard of Oz film now that I've read the book. The book is pretty short, and they still managed to both leave out a lot and add a lot in the movie. But I still love the movie and think that they did a good job.

For the fairytales, my favorite adaptations are all by Donna Jo Napoli. If you have any interest in fairytale re-tellings, definitely look her up-- her books are awesome and add a lot of depth to the stories without taking away from their original plots.
