Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Guy A and Guy B have been friends forever, well, since high school at least, so it was about two years, but it feels like forever for the two of them. The two of them have a secret that even the opposing person doesn't know (And they know everything about each other). They both love each other. No, it isn't some silly crush, they are head over heels in love. They don't say anything though, because with this intense love and want for each other, they are scared of rejection. Guy A is scared of forcing his timid best friend into a relationship, scared he doesn't feel the same way for him. Guy B is scared of rejection and that if he says anything that his best friend will abandon him, one of his worst fears. The two start to act weird around one another when Guy B starts to distance himself more than ever and Guy A tries and busies himself so they are trying to get their feeling stop go away, but with the separation it only get stronger. Things start getting weird for Guy B with people starting to flirt with him, thinking Guy A was out of the picture. They don't want to be nice to Guy B though, they want to get on his insides and rip him apart there. They don't know that he's very well shielded and won't let people in unless he trusts them, and it's hard to get him to trust you. Guy A figures this out and gets involved, getting the people away when they start thrashing out at Mika because he's so quiet and things. They're jerks, and Guy A has always protected B.

After all of this, will their true feelings come out? Will they finally be together? Will the waiting and intense love be worth all the waiting?

Mika was dressed up in a nice suit instead of his normal clothing, having to do a presentation in front of the leaders of the school. The only time someone could get him to talk more than usual, even to his best friend, was to put him on a stand. He hated talking in front of other people though, but these meetings where it was just an adult and him was fine.

He reached up and put his hand through his non-styled hair, knowing it was going to be rather hard to keep it nice through the day. That's why he brought his jell though. He sighed as he started to put things into his locker, waiting for his best friend to show up who was only four lockers down from him.

He couldn't stop his heart from beating faster and faster as the time went by, wanting to see him more than anything. He didn't want to admit to him that he was in love with his best friend. He knew that Kise wouldn't love him back, well, he was scared that he wouldn't be loved back.

message 10: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise walked through the school hallways, his pace a lazy stroll. He hated this place. Everywhere he looked there was always some poor soul who was being tortured by bullies. Or simply being excluded just for being a little different. And adults thought it was good for kids to go to school. Ha! Kise shook his head and continued on his way. There was only one person in this cursed place he actually wanted to see.

He blew his long bangs back from his eyes as he walked around the corner. There he was. The only person Kise actually cared about here. Mika. They had been friends since the start of high school, and Mika had been Kise's saving grace. Without Mika, Kise would surely have been kicked out of the school.

"Yo, Mika!" Kise called out as he neared his friend. He walked past his locker to lean on the one right next to Mika's.
"What's up?"

message 11: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika was looking through his new book that he was reading when he heard Kise call out for him. He smiled as he looked over to him. "Nothing, just a presentation today." He answered moving his hands down his jacket, making sure he looked nice. He had put the book back a few seconds before. He noted the closeness of his friend, blushing a little pink, but that was always there even with people he didn't know. "What's up with you?" He asked trying to keep the conversation going. Even though he had talked to him for two years (even though it felt like a lot longer), he still was scared of messing up some of their conversations, even though he didn't talk much to begin with.

message 12: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise looked Mika up and down. "You look good!" Kise looked at Mika then, realizing just how close they were. He felt heat running through his body and shifted his weight to put a little distance through them. Oh, if only he could tell Mika the truth.

"Me? Nothing much, besides being the bane of my teacher's lives. Haha!" He laughed, though in truth it wasn't much of an exaggeration. He was constantly doing stuff to tick his teacher's off, and he wasn't even sure what it was he was doing that made them so mad.

The bell rang and Kise cursed. Time to once again listen as a teacher droned on and on about something Kise couldn't care less about.
"Damn that bell..." He sighed. "Well, good luck on your presentation! I know you will do well."

message 13: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika smiled and nodded, "Thank you." He said taking out the final things that he needed for his next class. He wished that he could step closer to Kise, but knew that would be a bad idea. If he wasn't such a chicken he'd actually do something, but he couldn't.

He laughed a bit, "And then your best friend the angel of the teachers." He said moving around from one side of his hips to the other. He shut his locker right after, cocking his head a bit. "And you should be careful before you get kicked out.... Then who can I hardly talk to?" He joked, but scared he failed with it, once again.

He looked up, hearing the bell ring through the intercoms, starting to take a step back. He waved to him, "Yeah...." He said softly and waved to him, "Thanks.... It's after lunch."

message 14: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise laughed before he left, "Yeah. How on earth did the angel and the devil become best friends?" He paused before he left. Mika was always so quiet and timid, and he was always worried about him. All too often he would stay quiet and not speak his mind. Kise wished from the bottom of his heart that his friend would feel comfortable enough with him to tell Kise everything. But then, Kise was probably the only one who felt this strongly about their relationship. No matter how much Kise loved Mika, he just couldn't bring himself to tell Mika. If Mika rejected him and their friendship was ruined...Kise wasn't sure he would make it through high school without Mika. Mika truly was the angel to Kise's demon. And Mika was the only one who was able to keep Kise from doing all those stupid stunts he had back in middle school.

"Hey, I will see if I can slip out of class and see your presentation, okay? I promise I won't get caught and kicked out of school" He gave Mika a lopsided grin.

message 15: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika watched him, laughing lightly, "It was fate," He answered waving still. He didn't want to leave if Kise wasn't going to, even though he hated getting attention when he was late. He held the books close to his chest, him a bit smaller than Kise. He moved his hips around, sighing. It was as if he wanted to say something, and he did, but he didn't, because of the rejection thing. He wanted to say that Kise looked hot today, but that was every day. He took another step back, "Get to class so you won't be late." He said bending over a bit and then sitting straight up. "And don't get caught, I don't want to lose my only friend!" He waved, walking off and waving over his shoulder. "See you at lunch!" It was very true though, he did only have one friend, and that was Kise. He looked down at the ground as he walked on, his mask and silences heavy on the boy's shoulders.

message 16: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise sighed as Mika left. Oh, how Kise wished he wasn't such a coward, that he could tell Mika how he really felt about him. But that was always that what if factor. What if Mika rejected him? What if Mika decided he couldn't stand being friends with someone who had feelings for him? Kise wouldn't be able to stand it if he lost Mika, so he said nothing.

Kise turned and walked to his locker. He done the combination and his door swung open. There in the back of his locker was a picture of himself and Mika. They had gone to the midnight viewing of a movie they both liked. Well, to be honest they had been obsessed over the movie. It was one of his favorite memories with Mika.

Shaking his head, Kise grabbed his books and ran for his class. If he was late then it would be harder to sneak out later, and he really wanted to see Mika's presentation. It always amazed him how good his shy friend was when presenting something.

Kise walked into class just as the last warning bell rung. Phew, he just made it in time. The teacher gave him a disappointed look; they always seemed to enjoy sending him to the principle's office over every little thing. He and the principle were on a first name basis at this point.

Kise took his seat next to the window and leaned back in his chair, stretching his long legs out. He was just a little tall for school chairs. Being 6'1 was only useful in school if you were a football player. Otherwise it was just a pain because the desks and chairs always seemed to small.

He sat there as the teacher began his drone on something that happened hundreds of years ago. They were on the subject of some group of ancient warriors. Templars. Yeah, that was what they were studying. Kise sighed, at least Assassin's Creed made the Templars seem interesting, school just made them boring. Speaking of, he needed to have Mika over so they could play the newest Assassin's game, Revelations.

As the teacher continued to talk, Kise looked out the window, letting the teacher's voice become nothing more than a background noise. Only a little while longer and then he could see Mika at lunch.

message 17: by Kate Kid (last edited Mar 23, 2014 09:44AM) (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika was happy to go to class as he loved going to any of the classes. His first was Science, they were doing test on Daphnia Magna today, giving them some alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine to see how their hearts reacted. He was in a group of three, two of his partners the smartest kids in the class. They liked Mika because he was smart and only put things in when he needed to, and he did his work so they didn't have to worry about them doing everything.

After that was his Sign Language class. He liked this because he could actually talk without.... Talking. He could use his hands to say things, even though most of the time they laid limp on the table or they clutched onto each other. He didn't know why he was this way, just that he was and it was probably a bad thing.

The next class he had was a combined class of two subjects, math and another thing of science so he didn't have to take a science class later on. Oh how he wished that Kise was in one of his four hours, but he knew they had English together, Mika's personal favorite class along with creative writing. He missed Kise, watching how he reacted to some of the assignments and giggling at him when he can't get into the seats because he's to tall.

Mika blushed at the thought, loving to hug his best friend because he could hear his heartbeat because his head only reached the center of his chest.... He always had such a warm body, but Mika did too. He smiled a bit more, continuing on with his work.

Finally it was Lunch, Mika getting up out of his seat, him being the first one to get out of the room out of intisipation of seeing Kise. He smiled as his long legs carried him through the halls, his strides longer at the moment than before. He was smiling wide, something that rarely happened in public because he didn't like being teased for it from others. You never smile, why do you never smile? Is Kise mean to you or something? They always ask him about Kise, asking how they were friends and if Kise was making him be friends with him. Mika always answered with a no. Kise was the direct opposite to him, he was a sweety to him, always protecting him, putting up with his quietness, and they could have fun together. Sure, he'd like to make them more than just friends, but this was fine for now.... Someday though, hopefully something of the dating sort will happen between the two.

message 18: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Just as Kise was about ready to lay his head on the table in boredom, the bell rang. Thank god. Finally, Lunch. He could see Mika now. After that he had two more classes: Spanish and then English. English was the only class he enjoyed going to, and that was because Mika was there.

Kise had never been good in school, always struggling with his grades. When he first started going to school in this town, he had actually tried to do well in school. However, he had trouble paying attention in class, no matter how hard he tried. Eventually his mind would wander. His homework didn't always get done because he just couldn't focus on it for very long, and as a result, his grades suffered. His parents tried everything for him, and he went along with it. He went to a doctor and got diagnosed with ADHD. They tried drugs, but those only made it worse. They tried special routines that were supposed to help him develop a sense of focus, but that didn't work either. Finally Kise just gave up. His parents talked to him and said that all they asked was that he at least try to pass high school. He promised he would pass high school at least, and that was that.

For a long time, he just barely scraped by in school, getting grades that were just high enough to pass. Then he met Mika in high school. They quickly became best friends, though Kise wasn't sure how. It just happened. Mika calmed him down, let him focus on the here and now. At least when he was around anyway. Kise's grades had finally started to rise a little. All thanks to his friend.

Kise stood and gathered his books. He flew out the door and walked as quickly as he could, without running, to the cafeteria. He paused just inside, looking for Mika.

message 19: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika was in the back corner of the cafeteria, making him look like a huge loner, a very stylish loner at that. He wasn't though. He was chewing on an apple had brought from home. He tried to get into the lines at school the first few weeks but he couldn't do it. He'd end up looking at it and leaving a few seconds before because he couldn't force himself to get into line. He'd starve for t hose days. He finally just started taking lunch to school and he has ever since. He sometimes wished that he could get the food that everyone else was getting because some of it actually looked good, and he had heard that it was pretty good.

He sighed before looking up to see Kise walking quickly into the lunch room. Mika smiled a bit more, raising his hand into the air and waving at him signaling who it was. He wasn't wearing his "button up" (It was always buttoned down and used as an over shirt while he was wearing a white tee under.) so there was no light colors flashing in the air, just his pale hand and black sleeve.

He felt a bit weird, knowing he was standing out because of what he was wearing but didn't really want to call to much attention to himself. He dropped his hand after he knew for a fact that Kise had seen him. He hung his head after that, trying to get all the extra eyes off of him that he could feel all over his body even though only his torso up was exposed to their eyes.

He took another bite of his apple, craddling it in his hands making it look like he was eating nothing but air. He thought Kise looked cute from far away, sure, he only looked better when he was up close though. He wished so bad he wasn't so shy and quiet, even to his best friend. What was his problem? He had started writing a small story about how he wanted things to go between them, using different names and he messed up their looks a bit. He tried to write a letter to Kise before but only ended up burning it at a Christmas Party that they were at in the small fireplace.

message 20: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise smiled and waved back to Mika. He would join him in a minute, first though he needed some food. For both of them. He knew just how shy his friend was, but he also knew how much Mika wanted to join in with others. Do the same things, talk about the same things, and eat the same things. Before he had only been able to share a little of his food with Mika. The lunch ladies were stingy at the best of times, and heaven forbid the school was on a tight budget. The small meals would get even smaller. But he had a gift for Mika today.

Kise grabbed two trays and went down the line. Before, the lunch ladies had stopped him when he tried to get food for Mika, but just yesterday he had stopped in before they left and had a talk with them.

It was pizza today, and it looked fairly safe to eat too. Sometimes the things they had for lunch wasn't always things you could qualify as "edible", but sometimes it was pretty good. Today looked like one of the better days.

Kise grabbed a couple pieces for both himself and Mika, a mixed fruit cup, and pudding. He grabbed Mika's favorite soda and a Dr. Pepper for himself. Carefully balancing the trays, he made his way to Mika. He dodged a few legs, purposely stuck out into his path to trip him. Ha, they should know better by now. He never fell for that trick.

He joined his friend at the table and set Mika's tray in front of him.

"I come bearing gifts today!" Kise grinned at his friend then sat down and dug into his pizza. Yep, today was a good day to eat the school lunch; it was pretty tasty.

"I talked to the lunch ladies, they will let me grab a tray for you from now on. So long as they can see that you are getting it and that I am not eating both trays myself." Kise laughed and opened his can of Dr. Pepper, taking a quick drink before returning to his pizza.

"So how was your classes?"

message 21: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika watched him go into the lunch line, but as soon as he hit where the food was he was gone in the sea of kids trying to get their food to devour. He looked down at his apple, knowing he didn't get far enough food to fill his nervous stomach. He always ate more when he was nervous, but then when he wasn't he didn't eat a lot. Of course, if Kise ever seen him when he wasn't eating he'd make him against Mika's protests. Mika didn't mind though, he enjoyed being cared for and cared about.

He looked up when he saw the flash of blonde and blushed deep red when he saw the two trays. Kise placed it down in front of him, making him laugh at his first statement. He accepted happily, "Thank you.... How'd you do it?" He asked looking up at him and popping open the top of the can. It was his favorite, the blue Mtn Dew, VOLTAGE. He'd want to pay him back, but he had a good feeling that Kise wouldn't accept any cash for this. So Mika would give him some extra money so he wasn't running him dry on two lunches.

Mika ditched his half eaten apple and put it on the side of the tray as he started to bite into the pizza that was just amazing from his bland food he always brought. He couldn't stop smiling as he continued. "Wonder what the teachers would do for you if you got on their good side." He teased with a wink. When eating or right after eating Mika was more talkative, always feeling more comfortable.

"I watched a bug give birth today." He said with a shrug, "We put them in the alcohol for our science project and all of a sudden these little baby Daphnia started coming out...." He said with a slight chuckle, "I had a pretty nice few classes. You?"

message 22: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise winked, "The lunch ladies like to be flattered, and they like stories of friendship. So I spun a tale of drama and tragedy. Tell them you absolutely love their food and you wish your best friend could have some, but he can't because he is too shy to get in line. Haha, they were practically crying by the time I was done. I think I have found my calling at last." Kise gave a wicked grin as he bit into his pizza.

"So...bugs giving birth huh? Interesting." Kise shuddered. He hated bugs. Blasted creepy crawlers. "Just what we need, more bugs." Kise shivered once more and started on his fruit cup.

"My classes? Well, lets just say that the Templars on Assassin's Creed are far more interesting than the ones in history books. Speaking of, want to come over to my house tonight and play the newest Assassin's? My parents are going out tonight, so we can crank the sound up and live the life of an assassin in all its glory tonight." Kise waggled his eyebrows. He loved to crank the sound on his video games, it made him feel as if he was really truly living in the game.

message 23: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika laughed a bit, "So, your little best friend is shy?" He asked tilting his head to the side as he took another bite. "That's true.... and their food is good, better than that." He said looking over at the boring little sandwich that he made this morning with just mayo and Turkey slices. He shrugged it off though, "If only my father would let me use the stove again...." He had never told that story to anyone, and didn't want to in the cafeteria in case others heard.

"And yes, they were kinda cute...." He said tapping his chin. "They only live two months at most, so don't worry, the bugs aren't gunna getcha." He winked at him with another one of his stunning smiles. He had perfect teeth, making others question why he didn't show them off that often.

Mika thought about it, pulling out his phone, seeing as it was a Friday, so he nodded. "Sleepover?" He asked raising one of his eyebrows. "I really don't want to walk home in pitch darkness since we never really stop until one in the morning anyways." He laughed. He pushed open the phone and started sending a text to his father. He had one of those basic phones that you have to slide open and there was a keyboard. He was behind in his phone, but his laptop was top notch.

message 24: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise cocked his head a bit, his long bangs falling to the side. This was a story he hadn't heard yet, but he wasn't going to press the issue. He could tell his friend didn't want to talk about it here.

"Bugs? Cute? I believe you have been brain damaged at some point." Kise shivered again. He HATED bugs, and he never understood how his friend could stand to be near them. All those legs...

"And yeah, sleep over. I don't want you walking home in the dark anyway. Too many stories about shootings lately." Kise shook his head. It was getting bad. There for a while the neighborhood had been one of the safer ones, the place everyone wanted to live. But now the gangs, drugs, and shootings were starting to spill over into the neighborhood. He most definitely did NOT want Mika walking home by himself at night.

Kise tapped Mika's phone as he texted. "I am taking you shopping for your birthday. You would love the new smart phones they have. Then your phone could match your laptop. No pretests."

"What do you want to eat tonight? I will stop at the store on my way home and pick it up."

message 28: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika laughed as he watched him cringing at the thought of the bugs. "Well, I think my.... mother dropped me one day...." he said looking anywhere but at Kise, the touch of pain in his eyes. "Weird thought.... You'd think I'd die if that happened." He looked back, banishing the thoughts from his mind.

"I hate the gangs." He muttered before Kise could say anything about his mother. "I can't even go for late night walks like I used to when I was in thee country." He said with a light laugh, "But that's another way that I could have gotten brain damage, falling off of trees and so forth." He said waving his hand over his shoulder like it was nothing.

He smiled at the thought of having a sleepover, wondering how on earth he was going to tell him. He bit his lip when he said that he wasn't allowed to protest, his hands curling up on the table. "Do you even have enough money....?" He asked shrinking a bit in his seat. He didn't want him to spend that much on him when Mika could never do that for him.

Mika thought, then shrugged, "Anything you want." He said.

message 29: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise could have kicked himself for making his friend remember something painful. He didn't know what exactly, but whatever it was, it was a painful memory.

"Yeah. Used to be we could hang out in parks after dark, but no chance of that right now." He watched his friend in concern, obviously something bothered him when he thought about his mother. Kise wished there was something he could say to make Mika feel better, but whatever he said would likely be the wrong thing. Kise had a knack for saying the wrong things at the wrong time.

Mika's reaction to him buying a smart phone for his birthday was expected, his friend really was too nice. Most of the kids here would have leapt on the opportunity to have someone else buy them a smart phone.

"Hey, your my only friend in this entire place. Possibly the only decent one here too. Seeing how your my one and only true friend in this town, I think I am allowed to splurge on your b-day presents. Besides, I have been saving up money for your present all year, I have enough." Oops. He hadn't meant for that to slip out... Usually people didn't spend ALL year saving for their friends' birthday presents.

Kise looked down at his tray and played with what was left of his food. His cheeks were tinged pink with a blush. Damn him and his mouth, he never had mastered the art of holding a conversation without turning it into something awkward. He would have to be more careful in the future, if Mika found out how Kise felt about him...well he wasn't sure how Mika would react. Mika was the nicest person he knew, and he didn't think that Mika would go off on him, but you never know with something like that. Even in today's world, a guy being in love with a guy was not something you simply stated. There were still a lot of people who would make your life miserable for being different, for something that you couldn't help. For something that wasn't even wrong or weird, just different from what was generally accepted. Kise did not want to risk losing his only friend.

He looked back up, "Alright then, how about I cook Japanese tonight? I found a really good recipe online last week that I have been wanting to try."

message 30: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika didn't even notice the silenceness, always so used to it for wherever he was. He looked back at him when they started talking about the phone, his eyes widdening when he said that he had been saving up for a year. They were on their third year of friendship, which was awesome, but he didn't know that he would save up for a full year. "B-But Kise...." He said Mika's hands going to each other and clamping together. "That's a lot.... Are you sure?" He asked scared that he'd regret buying Mika a cellphone. He knew he'd try and get the one that he'd use the most and the one that was less cash. He wasn't going to make him pay more than he needed to.

Mika wondered how close he was getting to Kise, if Kise was sending him in the more friend/family zone or the one where they wanted to rip off your cloths and love you zone. Mika would like the love zone, but would be to timid to actually let him start stripping him down. That would be.... awkward. He put his hand on the back of his head where there was no gel and scratched it a bit.

"Dad said it was okay if I slept over there. And sure, that sounds good." He answered starting to eat the food as he went along with the conversation. He smiled a bit, liking when Kise cooked, "You'd think it was me that would cook me being the more timid and stuff of this relationship." He said, his eyes went wide for a second as he coughed, "I- I- M-Meant frie-endship!"

Zeara "Relax Mika, I promise this is what I really want to get you. The only limitation is that it has to be within $300." Kise knew his friend would probably go for the cheapest, but he really did want Mika to have a nice phone that he could enjoy. He knew his friend would enjoy it.

Kise listened as Mika talked, then nearly choked when Mika said relationship. He just barely kept himself from making any noise. His heart sank a little when Mika corrected himself. Well, there was Kise's answer. Just friends then. Oh well, no matter how much he loved Mika, having him as a friend was better than not having him at all.

Smiling the best that he could, Kise teased, "Are you calling me the overbearing caveman type then?" Kise laughed and finished his fruit and soda, just as the bell rang.

"Gah, damn that bell. Always the signal to more torture. Hey, how soon after class starts is your presentation? I need to know so I don't sneak out any sooner than I have to. If I sneak out too soon after class starts the teachers get suspicious." Kise chuckled evilly. "They know me too well."

message 33: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments He nodded, sighing softly, "Alright...." He said softly, "Just don't splurge to much on me, please." He begged a bit, his eyebrows furrowing.

Mika didn't want to correct himself, now he was officially quiet, he wasn't going to say much. He wanted to be with him at all costs, he wanted to love him.... He wouldn't even care how fast they went in the relationship. It was getting hard for Mika to much now. Even some thoughts going through his head excited him when he was around Kise. He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down. He was even starting to have thoughts, and he hated them because that's all they'd ever be. His mind started having a war with him.

He looked up at him when he asked about the caveman, nodding a bit, "The cavemaniest." He said softly, now to his normal volume. He bit his lip when the bell went off. He was on his feet and starting to clean up the table. "In twenty minutes, in room 300." Room 300 was the big board meeting place where all schools got together and presented new ideas and disgused new things. He wanted to just cry at that moment, but knew he couldn't. He sighed softly, hoping that Kise would just think he was nervous about the presentation.

Zeara Kise smiled slightly at Mika. Such a good person. Way too good for someone like Kise. Ah, he knew he would never be able to have a relationship with someone like Mika, he would always be afraid of breaking him in some way, and Kise would never be able to live with himself if he hurt Mika.

His friend went quiet for a while, nothing new, but Kise felt like there was something unsaid between them. He just didn't know what it was.

"Cavemaniest, huh?" He chuckled a bit, his friend always had a way with words. The two of them were like Shakespeare and a common peasant, and it was always obvious who the peasant was. Kise never could seem to say anything right.

"Well, I will make sure to have a sudden stomach ache in class in about 19 minutes then. You won't see me, but I promise I will be watching." Kise gave Mika a lopsided grin as his friend sighed. Kise rested a hand on Mika's shoulder, "Hey, knock 'em dead. You're a good student, so the teachers actually like you. They will listen to whatever you are saying, 'kay? Breath, relax, and do your best."

Right as they were about to leave, Daniel Jackson walked past and muttered to Mika, "Don't wet yourself when your in front of the teachers, faggot."

Kise saw red. He walked forward, grabbed Daniel by the shoulder and swung him around.

"What's wrong Akastuki?" Daniel snarled. "Don't like me messing with your little boyfriend?"

Kise bared his teeth at Daniel and replied, "You better go take a long walk off a short pier after a comment like that, Jackson." He snarled, venom in his voice. "And you better do it before I find you alone somewhere without witnesses."

Daniel paled but kept up his bravado. "Why? You threatening me, Akastuki?"

"No, just informing you of a fact. 'Cuz school is all about learning facts."

Daniel backed off, hands in the air. "Whatever, I was just teasing. Got it?"

Kise snorted. "Yeah. Right. But I wouldn't do it again if I were you."

Daniel glared at Kise for a second longer then turned and stalked off. Everyone knew what happened to the bullies in school when Kise was around. They ran into a pole and then the ground rose up and smacked them. At least, that was always the story they used.

Kise turned and said to Mika, "Don't worry about him. If he bothers you again, let me know. He just has a stick up his butt about something. His girlfriend probably dumped him again." Kise shook his head and continued, "We better get going."

He gave a short wave then headed to class. 15 minutes and counting 'till he had to ditch class.

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika nodded a bit, laughing slightly. He looked at the hand and blushed a bit more, smiling at him. He closed his eyes and listened to his words. He nodded, opening his eyes and looking back up at him. "Tha-" He was interupted by Daniel muttering to the side of himself. Mika didn't look over but sighed and looked away. He looked up when Kise went after him. He reached out, trying to catch him. "No...." He whispered. He stayed to the side, knowing to never get in the way of Kise....

He took a step back and threw the stuff away. He walked up to Kise when Daniel backed up. Boyfriend? He questioned. He wished.... He closed his eyes, biting his lip a bit harder, trying to clear his head. He tried to get his mind to stop spinning with everyone that had called him a faggot before he moved, but it didn't work for a few seconds, his hands going up and touching the sides of his head, as if covering his ears. He opened his eyes again, seeing Kise. He couldn't help but to hug him, squeezing the larger boy softly. "Thank you...." He said softly after letting him go so they could leave.

He went straight to the room once the two of them split. The panel wasn't there yet, giving him a few minutes to set up. He was getting out of his history class to do this which was fine to him. He breathed out once again and started to set his computer up, poking the touch screen. He was alone, like always. He always presented better when he was alone.

The panel came in after he was finished, Mika shaking hands with all of them. He walked up to his power point, starting off by introducing himself. "My name is Mika Cameron and I am the representative of this school. It is a pleasure to be in front of you today and explaining how are school is correcting all of the faults in the normal teaching system...." He started his explanation, going through the slides, but it wasn't boring, it was actually interesting. There were videos, places for questions, and he handed out flyers to each person so they could look at it. His slides were more pictures than words, but Mika held all the words needed in his head. He was pro at presenting.

If kids at the school could see him like this, they would leave him alone and stop teasing him about being so quiet. He smiled here, made himself feel at home, he was natural. He talked more than ever here.

Zeara Kise sat in class, watching the clock as intensely as a cat watches a mouse. 3 minutes till Mika's presentation, time to bring out the acting skills. A stomach ache would give him a reason to be gone from class for more than a few minutes. Kise had figured out long ago that the best way to act convincingly, was to actually experience the emotions he was trying to perform. So, in order to make himself turn green and look sick, was to think of something that actually made him feel queasy.

Bugs. Squishing, crunchy bugs under his bare feet. Yep, that did it. Kise raised his hand, and the teacher looked his way suspiciously.

"Yes, Kise? What do you need?" The teacher's tone was wary, clearly stating that he was expecting Kise to come up with some bogus reason to skip class. And it was true, but no need for the teacher to know that.

"Sir, I feel really sick." To drive that sentence home, Kise thought of bugs in his mouth and gagged. The teacher's eyes widened and he said,

"Well go to the restroom then! Before you puke in the classroom. Then head to the nurse's office if you still feel sick."

Kise nodded and shot out of the room, his hand over his mouth. He was completely acting, the thought of bugs in his mouth really did make him want to puke.

Kise headed towards the restroom at first, then looked around to make sure the halls were clear. All good. He took of towards room 300. He stopped next to the room right next to it and entered it, it was a storage room. There was a flaw in some of the rooms in this school. They had vents between the some of the rooms. Kise wasn't sure why, probably some mistake by the idiot who designed the place, but it was a flaw that Kise often took advantage of. He drug a cleaning bucket over to the wall and stepped up onto it. He carefully opened the vent as wide as he could without making a sound. There, Mika was just greeting the panel.

Kise stood there, balancing his weight on the not so sturdy bucket. He had made a bad choice in choosing this one. He tottered back and forth, but managed to keep himself from toppling over as he listened to his friend give his presentation.

He wished Mika could always be this confident in himself. It always amazed Kise to watch his friend present stuff like this to the teachers and board members. It was truly amazing to see his shy friend come into his own. Kise smiled.

Kise silently clapped once his friend had finished his speech. Very well done. Clapping proved to be a mistake as he lost his balance and fell. He just managed to catch both himself and the bucket, with only a slight sound. Thank god the panel was asking Mika questions at the moment. That had been way too close.

Kise carefully put the bucket back where he had found it, then exited the room silently before the panel left the room. He sprinted to the nurse's office. Just before he entered, he thought of bugs again and then entered the room. It was fairly easy to convince the nurse that he actually was sick, not hard to do when your skin has a green tinge, and was allowed to lay down for a while in the bed. The only time bugs were ever useful: when he was trying to get out of class.

He made sure to get up and make it to English class though, he wouldn't miss a chance to see Mika.

Kise walked into the room and took his usual seat in the back, next to the window. He waited for Mika.

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika was shaking after he finished the presentation and the questions. He was wondering where Kise would have seen him from and what he thought of him after that. He was scared that Kise would make him start talking more after that, or make him be more open. He blinked a few times, then started packing up. He was just glad that the panel was gone before he started shaking.

He let himself have a few minutes to just let the emotions flow out of him, tears exiting his eyes as he went through one of his small panic attacks. He knew that Kise and him would never be a couple because Kise looked like he was about to throw up when Mika said relationship instead of just friendship. He meant to say friendship, but he wanted to say the opposite. He wanted to be in love with him and be able to show it.

Mika put his hands on his face, trying to figure out what the hell he needed to do. "If I tell him it could ruin everything, if I don't I'm stuck in a scared little ball until I just fall apart...." He whispered. He thought about what if he started distancing himself, but he didn't want to do that since Kise needed him.... and he needed Kise.... He closed his eyes again, running through so many things. I should tell him on my birthday.... before he buys the phone.... He thought. Maybe stop at a park and hang out for a second....

He looked at the time, pushing himself up from the table and calming himself down. He was excited to see Kise, knowing his birthday was only two and a half weeks away, on a Wednesday. He sighed again, starting to exit the room, his face back to it's normal color and look.

He walked into the English class with no problem, not late but directly ontime. He saw Kise in the corner and smiled, his heart fluttering a bit. He had to make a discission and soon.... He walked over and sat down next to him. "What did you think?" He asked softly, sitting on the chair so his feet were on Kise's.

Zeara Kise smiled and waved as Mika entered the room. He leaned back and grinned at Mika.

"You. Are. Amazing." He meant every word he said. "When your up there it's like you belong there. Your confident, in control. Amazing. Well done!" He slapped his friends shoulder gently in congratulations. He truly was in awe of how well his friend done whenever he spoke in front of a panel like that. Gone was the timid shy kid that everyone saw, and in his place was someone who wasn't afraid to speak his mind.

"So, what did they think? I couldn't stay past the speech, so I didn't hear what they had to say." He was curious as to what the panel thought. He knew there was no way they weren't impressed, but he wanted to know exactly what they had said to Mika.

message 39: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika smiled at him, nodding and reaching up, wishing he could get the crap out of his hair. He nodded to his friend, knowing they had two minutes before the class started. "Thank you...." He said softly. He wished that he could get a hug instead of a pat on the shoulder but that wouldn't happen unless Kise decided it was okay if they dated. Which he didn't know if that would ever happen. He hated how quiet and shy he was. It was stupid. He'd never get anything he wanted if he just stayed quiet, but he couldn't get himself to talk. "If only I was like that out of a conference...."

He thought for a second, "They liked it." He said back to being his quiet self. He was closed up again and not open to what he thought. "They said I had good ideas and the school is doing fine.... that I'm a good speaker." He said. The people on the panel didn't know Mika, so they thought that he talked all the time when he only said what he needed to do.

He thought for a second, "Sometimes I wonder if I told people what I thought, and what I felt about them.... then where I'd be." He said trying to hint to something but not being able to come out and say it. He hated himself for this so much. It ripped him apart. "So I'll walk over to your house after I get dressed and get into something comfortable?"

message 40: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise nodded and listened with a small smile as his friend told him what the panel though. His smile wavered a bit when Mika wondered what it would be like if he spoke better. If only his friend realized that he shouldn't have to talk for people to listen to him. There were so many different ways that Mika let what he was thinking be known. Kise had been with him long enough that he could listen to Mika's body language just as well as he could listen to his words. A slight tilt of the head, the way he held his shoulders, how he sometimes hid his face, they were all hints that Kise had learned to look for when he was with Mika. If the other kids in the school could just shut up and pay attention to what Mika was really like, then they would realize just how amazing a person he was.

"Hey, there are more than words to listen for when talking to someone. But the rest of these kids are to self-absorbed to listen to what you say. If they stopped harping over the fact that you don't talk much and watched your actions more, they'd realize just how amazing a person you are." Kise turned his head a little so his long bangs hid his face as he blushed a little. Grr, if only he had better control over his body.

"If you want I can give you a ride to your house. Dad is letting me drive his old Toyota now that he has a new one. It's old and a little rusty around the edges, but it gets me where I need to go. I don't want you walking by yourself on the streets, even in the daylight. The streets are getting pretty dangerous."

message 41: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika smiled as he listened to his friend talk about him, the pink on his cheeks, but he learned not to hide his face from him anymore as it was useless. His hair didn't help him, and that Kise would know how to read him always just like he always did. His heart broke a bit more listening to him, but he was only meaning in a friend way.... Mika sighed, "W-Would you.... tell me if you...." He stopped talking though, not able to finish his sentance. It didn't help that the teacher just walked in with a huge wave of students after him.

Mika dropped his feet to the floor, positioning himself in his desk like usual. "Nevermind." He said with a slight smile, even though it was obvious there was a hint of pain in his eyes. He looked up front, his hand on his bag as he reached in and took out his text book, reading book along with a note book and pencil.

The teacher started out her lesson with giving them a prompt to read from their text books, which was just a huge book filled with short stories and journal prompts that were very easy, at least for Mika.

message 42: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Would Kise tell him if?? What? Mika, however, did not finish what he was saying as the teacher came in, and Kise was left wondering what Mika had been about to say. Kise sighed quietly as his friend simply turned to the front and preceded to read as instructed. It would have to wait then. From the look on Mika's face however, Kise doubted he would ever find out what Mika had been going to say.

Kise grabbed his books and laid them on the desk. He flipped to the story they were reading currently and was instantly lost. It was a Shakespeare play, and all the "thee"s and "thou"s were to much for Kise's brain. Kise sighed in defeat. Thank god Mika understood this crap. He would have to ask Mika what the heck this story was about later. Why were they supposed to learn Shakespearian again? No one spoke it anymore? So why bother?

He glanced over and watched as Mika read. His friend was intent on the words before him, and Kise always enjoyed watching Mika work. How on earth had someone with such intellectual strength befriended someone like Kise who had the intelligence of a caveman?

message 43: by Kate Kid (new)

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika made weird faces as he read, as if he was the character in the story. He never really noticed when he was doing it because it was just part of him. He didn't stop making the faces though until he finished the story. He had gotten a few looks from people as they muttered that he was a freak. He didn't hear though, completely lost in the story in front of him.

He looked up, finishing the story before a lot of people could get out of the first page and it was three pages long. He glanced over at Kise, knowing he was lost. He sighed, taking out a piece of paper. He wrote down something on it, and passed it to Kise. Lost? He had very nice writing, something that could be read by everyone. He smiled a bit leaning his head on the table, watching his friend.

He couldn't stop the smile on his face, just wishing that he could lean over and plant a gentle kiss on the blonde boy's lips and not separate for another few minutes. To sit on the larger boy's lap and cuddle up with him.... His thoughts started go get a bit different as their settings changed in his mind. He was in one of the thoughts that he shouldn't be having, the ones that dealt with a lot of heat and skin. Soon, he popped out of it, just glad that he was under a table so it could cover up something that wasn't supposed to be awake....

message 44: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise gave Mika a sheepish glance after he read the note. He wrote back, 'is it so obvious?'. Unlike Mika's near perfect handwriting, the kindest thing you could call Kise's was chicken scratch. And that was being kind about it.

Kise gave his friend a helpless shrug. Reading just wasn't his forte. Neither was math, science, history, or different languages. The only thing he was good at was martial arts and getting into trouble. And video games. God help the person who came up against Kise in Call of Duty.

Kise turned back to the teacher as she began explaining what the story meant. Aware the entire time of Mika watching him. It was hard to control the emotions that rose up in him. Thank goodness he wore his hair long, it covered up all the embarrassing blushes he was prone to when it came to Mika.

Finally the bell rang and school was over. Kise gave a relieved sigh and looked back at Mika.

"Thank god, hell just ended for the day." Kise raised his eyebrows in a quick, expressive look of relief.

"So, you gonna ride with me to your house?" He really hoped Mika accepted, it made him nervous every time he walked home from school alone. It was the reason Kise often would walk him to his house, even though Kise lived in the opposite direction. Kise was a black belt in karate, but Mika was not only small, he disliked fighting.

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika listened to the teacher, smiling softly as he watched his friend. He wasn't going to stop, he didn't want to even though 'under the table' was being a pain in the ass. He closed his eyes after awhile, but that only made the thoughts more vivid. He sighed, turning back to the teacher. It wasn't long before he was calm and the bell started to ring. He yawned, starting to gather his things and putting them away. "You mean for three days." He said sticking up three of his fingers.

He was so glad it was Friday so he could sit home and read for a few days, well, whenever he got home from Kise's. He wanted to reach out and take his hand, to walk out with him hand in hand. He wanted to be with him so bad that it hurt to just look at him.

"If you want to, I'ma take a bit to get this stuff washed out of my hair if that's okay." He said with a shrug, "And then I have to change." He moved his jacket around, so glad to actually be out of it when he got home.

message 46: by Zeara (new)

Zeara Kise shrugged and said, "I can just bug your dad if he is home." He gave another one of his devil may care grins and started for the classroom door.

"He just looovees when I come over." Kise snickered. Mika's dad did NOT care for Kise, for good reasons though. Kise was basically a delinquent, just without the paper record. Kise knew he had abad habit of getting into things he really shouldn't; fights at school, beating up gang members on the street when they threatened him or his friends. Now that he thought about it, he was actually a violent person at times.

"How are things at home?" He hated to pry, but he felt protective of Mika. If anything were to happen to him when Kise could have done something to stop it, Kise would never forgive himself.

They walked out of the school and Kise headed for his car, pulling out his keys and unlocking the doors.

"Just throw your stuff in the backseat, and please try to ignore the mess. I have been meaning to clean it, and well... you know me." He gave another sheepish look to Mika and then climbed into the driver's seat.

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments "He's not home, and he'll throw something at you I hope you know." He said smirking. "And it's going to be something like a bug, we've been finding some in our garage lately." He smirked.

He knew his father didn't care for Kise, but he was in love with him and that's all that mattered. He smiled softly, because he knew the truth about him, and that was all that mattered.

"Things are going fine." He answered almost putting his hand through his hair again. "He asks me about you and tries to see if you're getting any better, and I tell him that you are and he needs to stop worrying.... But then again, he's my father and he needs to worry since my mom isn't around to care." He said shrugging. He wouldn't think to much about it as he continued to the car. He opened his door and jumped in, throwing his stuff in the back like Kise had told him to.

He didn't care if it was a mess, "Don't worry, you should have seen the tool shed when my father and I lived out in the country." He said smirking.

Zeara Kise shivered at the mention of bugs.
"Why do you say stuff like that?" He nearly whine. Just the mention of them and he was having images flash though his head. He shook his head trying to rid himself of the thought. Bugs, something someone up there came up with to punish people.

"You know what, I might just stay in the car then. I am not sure I want to risk coming face to face with a roach or something." Kise shivered again as he started the car.

Kise paused at the mention of Mika's mother. He knew it was sore spot for his friend, and he wished Mika felt like he could talk to Kise about it, but he wasn't going to push the subject. Mika would tell him when the time was right, or he wouldn't. It was completely up to his young friend. Kise knew one thing for sure though, he would never judge his friend about anything.

Kise laughed at Mika's last comment. "If the shed was worse than my car, then that is pretty bad. I haven't swept my car in months." He chuckled as he drove. He rolled down the window, enjoying the warmish spring breeze. It wasn't quite warm enough for shorts and swimming yet, but give it another month or so.

"So, I just learned that the city is opening up a new walking trail. I know you aren't big on hiking, but there will supposedly be a creek that leads into a pool we could swim in. You up for a summer trip?"

Kise pulled into Mika's driveway and parked the car. "I'll be here. Take your time."

Kate Kid (katekid) | 56 comments Mika smiled wide, laughing lightly. "Or you can come with me or I'll put one in your window." He said looking over to him with a large, white toothed, smile. "My room is clean and you can read through my notebooks.... besides the blue one.... don't read that one...." He was brushing bright red at the thought of him reading the one story about how he wanted their relationship to go.... It'd be terrifying if he knew. At least, it'd be terrifying for him to know yet. In a week and a half or two and a half weeks would be fine, but not now when they were having a sleepover. He'd think he was a freak.

"No creepy crawlies will get you." He waved his fingers back and forth as if they were magic. He smirked, starting to get out of the car. "Plus I have better music than the radio." He commented and started to the door. He was glad he got to get rid of this getup.

He opened the door and waited for Kise to come into the house, moving back and forth on his keels. He smirked a bit, then headed inside. He wanted him to come in, hating the thought of leaving him out there all by himself with nothing to do. Especially how his car might have a little bug too. "Plus if your car is worse than my garage you might have bugs in there too!" He called over to him with a light laugh as he turned inside the house.

He walked upstairs and started getting his things ready to change into. He was going to take a quick shower, hating how weird he felt. He soon went into the bathroom, starting to undo his clothing and jumping into the shower. It took him about 40 minutes before he was ready to get going. He had to pack up a few things for the night stay, few games, snacks, and music. They had an awesome time at a sleepover usually.

Zeara Kise scowled playfully at him as Mika teased him about the bugs. He really shouldn't have let his friend find out about his phobia, it had lead to endless teasing. But then, he didn't mind it so much if it meant the Mika smiled more. He was willing to be teased for an entire day if it meant he got to see that smile.

"You are right about you having better music, the radio sucks today." Kise turned his car of and climbed out, shutting the door softly. It was a habit he had formed after his dad had gotten after him for slamming doors too much.

Kise gave Mika a peeved glare at the thought of bugs in his car. Great, now he would have to deal with the idea of bugs crawling on him in his car too.

"Thanks...." he said, drawing the word out in sarcasm. "Now I will think of that every time I drive my car." He grimaced and shook his head, following his friend into the house.

Kise watched his friend walk up the stairs, and couldn't help but watch with a small smile. Alone in the house, a bed within reach. He could think of a few things they could do together.

Kise caught his thoughts before they went any further. No. That was terrible for him to have thoughts like that. Mika probably didn't even think about him in the way that Kise did. In no way, shape, or form would Kise ever try to take advantage of Mika either. If by some miracle they ever had a relationship and it went that far, then it had to be Mika's choice.

Kise shook his head again to clear it of thoughts, then bounded up the stairs two at a time. He watched as Mika entered the bathroom. His friend would probably be a while. Time to read his notebooks. Specifically, the ones that held information on Kise's classes. His friend always took great notes, and they had become Kise's saving grace in school. Mika was always sure to write in a way that Kise could understand, and he would be forever grateful to Mika.

He reached for the notebooks and then paused as he caught sight of the blue one. It was tempting, it really was. Kise struggled with the urge to read it. He mustn't read it, Mika would be furious and Kise did not want to intrude on anything private. Oh, but it was so tempting to find out more about his friend. With a sigh, Kise grabbed the school note books and resisted the urge to read the blue one. It was hard, but he managed.

Plopping down on his friend's bed, he read through the note books carefully. Yes, his friend was always good at putting the things they learned in school into words he could understand; it was the only reason Kise had made it this far in school. He would have failed a long time ago if it wasn't for Mika.

Kise's eyes strayed to the blue note book. How mean, to put it somewhere so obvious where it was just begging to be read. Kise shook his head hard and went back to reading the school note books. No. No. No. He would respect Mika's privacy, even if the curiosity killed him.

Kise heard Mika turn off the shower. Kise quickly stood and left the room, his shy friend was always so embarrassed when other people watched him dress, so Kise always made sure to spare him that. He wasn't sure WHY Mika always turned beet red when Kise caught him with his shirt off, after all, they were both guys, but he hated to cause his friend any discomfort.

Kise migrated to the couch downstairs and resumed reading the note books, doing his best to keeps his thoughts from becoming to deviant. He really needed to tell Mika how he felt, it was going to drive him crazy otherwise. The fear, however, was strong. He couldn't risk losing his best friend. Mika meant more to him than anything, and having him as a best friend was better than not having him at all. That thought however, did nothing to lessen the desire to tell Mika everything. To rush up there at that very moment, tell Mika everything, and then hold him in his arms. Kise wanted to kiss those soft lips, to...

Kise shook his head again and stood. Yeah, reading the note books as impossible at this point. Kise sent a desperate glance up the stairs. He hoped Mika finished packing soon. If Kise was left with his thoughts any longer, who knew where they would go?
