Yes....sometimes it doesn't help with seconds

I would like to nominate, "Nine Princes in Amber," by Roger Zelazny. And second, "Except the Queen."
Guys, there are other books in need of seconds, it seems silly to waste yours.
14 nominations, only 6 with seconds.

Sorry. Can I nominate another book? "The Girl, The Gold Watch, and Everything," by John D. MacDonald.
Ok, we currently have four duplicate seconds. Tom, Evgeny, Ian and and Evan you can withdraw the duplicate and second something else.

I withdraw my second for God Stalk (provided it still stays in the nomination) and second Malice.

Hi, the group have only read the first Mistborn book so don't think this will qualify.
Brenda?

The Girl, the Watch and everything is listed under Mystery rather than fantasy on the books goodreads page. Also in the uk, at least, it is only available as a second hand paperback. I don't think this will qualify.

Sorry Bruce....maybe another?
Marc, you may second another if you wish.
Thanks Brenda. We have nine noms, three almosts.
I'm off to bed, at some point tomorrow I'll (attempt to) make my first poll.

Sweet, I will definitely second the Aeronaut's Windlass! Been looking forward to pagemunching some of Jim's books yet never got to the Dresden Files.
Thanks Helen! If the description about elemental furycrafting wouldn't have been enough to convince me to read it, the cover surely would have blasted away any final dubiety.

For readers in the U.K. The book is downloadable at numerous sites. And they list it as, "Fiction," "mystery," "Science fiction," and "thriller."
In all honesty, this book defies being put into a single category. But it is a very unforgettable read. Worthy of a second consideration.
Bruce
I suspect that many people misclassified The Girl, the Gold Watch & Everything as mystery just because all John D. MacDonald other books are mystery and it's what he's known for. The book description and reviews clearly paint it as a fantasy.

Place your book suggestions here. Do read through the rules first, please.
1. All nominations must be shelved on GR as fantasy primarily.
2. All nominations must be linked to their book page, or they'll be ignored.
3. All nominations must be seconded.
4. Check our group bookshelf as we won't be including books we've read.
5. No arguing!
Do remember I'll have to collate them so make them easy to see or I may miss them when I (attempt to) make a poll.
You have at least a week to nominate, depending on how busy I am next weekend. That should leave plenty of time for book-buying.
Rules subject to mod whims ;)
Helen, for the mods.
