Having finished THE POPE and MUSSOLINI by David I. Kertzer recently, I agree with your comments about Il Duce; however, some of his actions tended to undermine history's perception of him and rightly so.

i interviewed some people who had met Il Duce, and the perspectives of him were that of a bully, not really well educated, but brutally effective as a strong man who was a complete narcissus.
