YES IT DOES MEAN VERY BAD THING, I AM EAGER TO SEE HOW DH HANDLES IT. I HAVE READ SOME RATHER NASTY CRITICAL COMMENTS ON OTHER SITES, APPLYING PERSONAL 21ST CENTURY AND DIFFERENT STANDARDS WITHOUT THE WHOLE CONTEXT OF BOOKS 5,6,7. DH CREATES SUCH SENSITIVE SCRIPTS, I AM SURE IT WILL BE APPROPRIATE...
I found an excellent analysis of the VBT on the web and have come to agree with it. I think it's okay if we talk about it out loud in this topic area, since spoilers are a given when discussing a particular book.

On a re-reading of Book 1 I noticed that when Ross goes to visit his parent's grave site that the date of his mother's death on the tombstone is "the ninth of May", which is also the date of the VBT in Warleggan. Can that just be a coincidence? Anyone care to comment?
