Kassandra | -1 comments Goblins, ghouls, trick or treaters and witch's brews - all of these things and more can be found in our Halloween Readathon!

It's a spooky time of year, make sure you have a book right near! We'll be celebrating Halloween (hey, we'll come up with any reason to read!) with a Halloween Readathon.

Join us from Sunday, October 25th to October 31st for as much reading as you can handle.

Feel free to use this thread to plan our your reads, talk strategy with the group or just share how excited you are to have an excuse to read as much as you can all week!

It's too bad we cant get badges on here:( It would be cool like if we participated in this we got a pumpkin or owl. Maybe we should all cut out an owl pumpkin or bat for each book we read that week!

Clare (-clare-) | 98 comments I'm going to try and join in with this. I've never done a Readathon before and I think they look like something i'd enjoy. No idea what i'll be reading yet though I need to check out the 'Horror stories for wimps' section at the library.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

OMG I just thought of something and this might be a stupid question: Does the book or books that you read during these readathon have to have a Halloween/horror theme? Because if that is the case I don't think I have any book with that theme.

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 104 comments Hi everybody. Ooo badges sounds fun and definitely rather be reading than trick or treating :)

Amazon has ghost megapack book deals, They are usually a collection of horror or ghost short stories. I have lots of them downloaded to my Kindle.

message 23: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Wendy - you can read any genre you like for the readathon, there are no restrictions on that. Some of our members may choose to read a horror or thriller genre for the season but you can read anything you like. I hope you enjoy it!

Kassandra | -1 comments Just a little over 4 hours to go for me until the start. I'm thinking of staying up really late tonight and finishing my book to start this readathon off on the right foot!

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I Got my reminder and hopefully I will get tons of reading done. :)

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 104 comments I'm here and ready for some good reading. I'm hoping to read all I can so that my mind is distracted, which I could really use. I have alittle under 4hrs before midnight. I'll be starting The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa which will work for Halloween :) and also try and finish my other books that I'm currently reading.

I've changed my mind about what to read about sixty times. Now I really just need to grab something so I'm ready when the clock strikes.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

After reading all of the comments I have to ask, how many of you are staying up to start the read athon at midnight? I thought about it but I am fighting a cold and I need all the sleep I can get.

I have a huge TBR that just keeps growing and a bunch of series that I want to finish reading, so I need the activity! Good luck everyone, I'll be starting with continuing my current reads until they're down to 3: 1 audiobook, 1 ebook on my phone, 1 ebook on my netbook
