Halloween Readathon - General Discussion
It's too bad we cant get badges on here:( It would be cool like if we participated in this we got a pumpkin or owl. Maybe we should all cut out an owl pumpkin or bat for each book we read that week!
So are we all forgoing trick or treat to curl up and read? LOL!!!!!

I'm going to try and join in with this. I've never done a Readathon before and I think they look like something i'd enjoy. No idea what i'll be reading yet though I need to check out the 'Horror stories for wimps' section at the library.
OMG I just thought of something and this might be a stupid question: Does the book or books that you read during these readathon have to have a Halloween/horror theme? Because if that is the case I don't think I have any book with that theme.

Wendy - you can read any genre you like for the readathon, there are no restrictions on that. Some of our members may choose to read a horror or thriller genre for the season but you can read anything you like. I hope you enjoy it!

I might try to finish off the Vampire Knight series. I'm about halfway through and I'm ready to raid Alessandra's manga list again for something new. >:-)
I enjoy readathons.I am hoping I can finish Dracula. I love how the book is written in letters! Such a well written book.
Just a little over 4 hours to go for me until the start. I'm thinking of staying up really late tonight and finishing my book to start this readathon off on the right foot!
I Got my reminder and hopefully I will get tons of reading done. :)
I'm here and ready for some good reading. I'm hoping to read all I can so that my mind is distracted, which I could really use. I have alittle under 4hrs before midnight. I'll be starting
which will work for Halloween :) and also try and finish my other books that I'm currently reading.
I've changed my mind about what to read about sixty times. Now I really just need to grab something so I'm ready when the clock strikes.
After reading all of the comments I have to ask, how many of you are staying up to start the read athon at midnight? I thought about it but I am fighting a cold and I need all the sleep I can get.
I was thinking about it Wendy but I'm fighting a head cold so I'm not sure how long I'll stay up but I'm going to try for alittle while at least. Even if I can do an hr I'll be happy.
Everybody in my house stays up late anyway, so starting the readathon at midnight is no problem for me. Can't stay up too late though, church on Sunday morning.
I think I'll be joining in on this readathon, hopefully this will get me more active on the group and help me read more :)I have a huge TBR that just keeps growing and a bunch of series that I want to finish reading, so I need the activity! Good luck everyone, I'll be starting with continuing my current reads until they're down to 3: 1 audiobook, 1 ebook on my phone, 1 ebook on my netbook

in my hot little hands now. Best of luck everyone.
I stayed up until 2 with my book and after having some breakfast, I will return to it. I'm within sight of the end so I'm also trying to think of which book shall come next. Happy reading everyone!
Finished my first book and still haven't decided what to read next. I have a stack sitting here waiting for me to make up my mind. It's at times like this that I wish I could read 2 books at the exact same time!
Planning on spending the night reading! Currently reading 'Walden, or Life in the Woods' by Henry David Thoreau which I am absolutely adoring!
The Readathon helped me finish It which was a giant chunkster, so now I am feeling successful and I can move on to my next book.
I was planning on it but thank to this cold that I am still fight off I was still up at midnight when the readathon began so I said what the heck and start reading. I got a good hour in before the meds I took finally decided to take effect. I Had a ton of errands to run today since I have been pretty much home bound all week because of this cold but I did manage another 2.5 hours. I will try and get some more reading done today.
