Well basically your character has been invited to a school for elementals. You can choose wether your character knows or not. But the reason they are chosen was 'cause they, consciously or unconsciously, were discovered to have elemental powers wether large or small.

Minors and Majors and Minor Majors.

Majors

There are only 7 Main elementals. Only 7 can be born with the power to control the main elements in one life time. (for now only mods can have main elemental characters)

Major Minors

Major minors are those who have minor elements that have more minor elements under them, for example, Nature.

Minors

These are everybody else.
They are not necessarily weaker than Majors or Minor majors/major minors. It just means they have less things they can and/or NEED to control.
This gives them an advantige. They are less likely to loose control and they can learn to control and use their powers more quickly. Majors would have a harder time in doing this since they have to learn to control MORE and the power tends to control THEm so I think minors are better ^^.

Power boost? depending on age:

8 Years Old

This is the typical age for you to start developing a higher awareness of your element. This usually result in elementals being reckless around their elements.
Some develop their powers earlier or show signs of their power at this age but only those like majors since they have more power they have to control so it's like their power is giving them an extra few years to gain control over their powers.

13 for boys, 12 for girls

Elemental powers usually start showing around puberty. They gain a small amount of access to their powers.
However in-between the ages of 8 and 12/3, powers may develop if the child has gone through a major traumatic experience such as a parents death (Elemental powers are linked to emotions)


16 Years Old

The height of puberty is when your Elemental powers start to get a bit more tricky and dangerous. This is when people REALLY start to notice. (The majority of students in Elementum are around this age). This is the most dangerous time for Elementals and those around them must beware not to upset them too much or they might loose control...

18 Years Old

Your power further develops at this age but starts to settle down along with some peoples's *cough* emotional balance. This is when you can start REALLY getting control over your elemental power (although it's recommended to start learning how to control your powers as soon as it's discovered).

35 Years Old

This is the last stage of power development. If you learn to control your powers by this age you can be very powerful. This is the age that your ability to expand further with your powers stops. For example, unknown to the students, their principal stopped ageing at this age (but don't tell them that ;) )



Of Course however, like puberty, it all depends on the individual and their emotional state. The later you discover your power the more you have to struggle to gain control of your power, but the earlier you do the more it will effect your life due to mental immaturity and emotional immaturity.

The main thing to do is to learn to control your powers as early as possible, and this is where Elementum comes in.

NO ONE CAN HAVE THE SAME ELEMENTAL POWER. ONLY 1 ELEMENTAL PER MINOR, AJOR , ETC. CAN BE BORN AT THE SAME TIME.

According to observation through the years (done by the immortal principal) it has been discovered that powers are connected to genetics. It can skip many generations but it usually gets passed down through family.

This is how Major Minors came to being.

earth elemental + Life Elemental = Plant Elemental
multiple elementals = storm elemental

etc.

Emotions<\b>

Each element has a certain emotion that it os connected to the most. not tjat all elements conmected to anger its just some are connected to it more than others.


Fire<\u>

Anger.
If a fire elemental geyts angry there is a high possibility that he/she will loose control of their power. Will add more detail tomorrow.

Fire elements should stay away from coffee.


Water

grief and sorrow.



Air

nervousness and angsiety.

earth

Life

seclution and feelings of rejection.


Death

self hate. others hate. depression. self loath. revenge.

Spirit

self doubt. fearing of hurting others. fears of failing. etc.

yes

elementum is in a city but has a park with trees/mini forest, a lake and other such stuff srounding it. It is close to a beach as well.


each element group gets taken on weekly excursions to places specific to their elements.

Gwi belives that if you learn to fight with emotions then you can fight better rather than haveing your emotions get in the way if someone provokes you.
