Summary: June 5, 2002, Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped from her bedroom in Salt Lake City in the middle of the night. Stolen away from her family for nine months; Elizabeth was abused and used. She faced many adversities but also many miracles during her incarceration. Elizabeth finds power from her faith in her religion and love for her family. Go on the journey with Elizabeth as she take you vividly through her imprisonment for the nine months and the court trial after ten years.
Personal Reaction: While reading this book I wasn't particularly happy because this story is not happy. I was however intrigued by Elizabeth's response to some things. Elizabeth tells her story in detail that makes you feel like you were nearly there with her. My favorite part of the book is Elizabeth showing her gratitude even after these terrible things happened to her. A great read for a true story and a way to become more knowledgeable on things that happen in the world everyday.
