Sophie (sawphie) I just read it today and really liked it. For me, it sticks to the pure definition of a thriller: a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes your palms sweaty. It's fast-paced all along and I quite liked the end. I'm looking forward to the rest of the books and to the tv show.

Jimmie | 7 comments I too found Pines a thriller. All three of the Pines books were outstanding. They also aligned well with the TV program.

Biana I liked this series. I had NO IDEA it was a tv show and now I'm actively trying to find a copy to borrow. I'd love to see some of this stuff in action.

Laura This is at the top of my TBR but the digital library doesn't have it for some reason (boo...) so I'm waiting until I muster the enthusiasm to walk to the actual library. It's definitely on my 2016 list though.

Sophie (sawphie) Laura you should definitely try and read it, it is very good! I got the three books as a bundle on amazon for not even 10 bucks, so watch out, maybe they'll bring the deal back.

Laura That's good to know! I'll definitely keep an eye out.

Kathi (kathijo) | 78 comments I read the 3 books for my trilogy and enjoyed them. I didn't know they were a TV show as well - I will have to look for it!

Samantha | 122 comments I bought these a few months back because they were cheep on Amazon. I hadn't had a chance to read yet so Pines was a perfect fit for this week. I watched the show and liked that the book didn't completely follow the show; it left some suspense that might not have been there otherwise.

Sophie (sawphie) I'm glad to hear it Samantha, I was afraid it would be a bust to watch the show after reading the books.

Does the show cover the three books, or just the first one?

Samantha | 122 comments I finished the first book this morning so it is hard for me to say for sure. If I recall correctly the end of this first book takes place around the middle of the season. It could be that the tv show has gone in a whole different direction but I kind of think some of the ground covered in the show comes up in the next two books.

For the most part I likes the show, I think there were some slow moments but overall a fun show to watch.
