It depends on the book, really - not going to lie, but if a book's a big, thick thing I prefer the ebook just to save my wrist the effort. At the moment though, I'm really on an audiobook kick, with no weight at all.

Marie (acheron1981) | 38 comments I actually dont mind which im reading its the story that makes a book. although I do miss the smell of a new book in my hands.

Tracy O’Sing If I can get paperback then it wins hands down.. It's something about the tactile feel and smell of a book...
However I run a blog and receiving books ARC's for review, they are on ebook! Don't hate that but If it's a great book and I really loved it then I will buy on paperback.

I still am alright with hardcover but paperbacks are starting to be harder to read for me. The print is definitely smaller. I just got White Trash Zombie Gone Wild and noticed I was holding it pretty far away from me to get it focused. I should just put on the glasses (I've bought 2 readers) but I just don't want to admit it. So recently ebook has become very comfortable for me because I can just up the font.

Margarita Felices (felicm60) | 7 comments I love to have a paperback. But to be honest, much like @Amyiw (previous post) I'm finding it hard to read these days too. So it's my faithful Kindle that has started to become attached to me the most these days. But as an author, there's nothing like having your book as a paperback and in the shops. I tend to reach more people with ebooks these days... I guess that doesn't really answer the question does it? I suppose I'm going to have to go electronic...

Lindsey (ucdlindsey) I prefer paperback (or hardback) to electronic, it just doesn't feel the same to hold a Kindle and click buttons to turn pages. I also have a floor to ceiling bookcase in my house, and sometimes I just like looking at the books. ;) Definitely not the same thing, browsing through them on an e-reader. I have a Kindle, but I basically only use it when I go on vacation, to save weight/space in my luggage.

There is another advantage... no lights. My Paperwhite and Nook Glow do not disturb my husband if I read next to him in bed. They also are not hard on the eyes like the tablets. I remember the days of book lights, even with my first Kindle... now the ONLY way I read at night in bed is electronic. (normally e-reader but occasionally tablet, like now I'm fixing my friend's Nook HD 9" tablet. It is heavy and definitely more strain on the eyes with the back lighting but... the 9" size, so nice on old eyes that want big fonts! Kindle why did you get rid of the DX and never have a reasonably priced 9" eInk reader?!)

Truly I "read" a lot of book on audio now too. I have several book apps on my phone including Audible, and Overdrive.

I prefer book in hand, but sometimes you just have to go with the ebook. I think it depends on the type of book. Some books just seem e-bookish, where some books require the nestling into a chair flipping pages.
