With the all the recent books that have been made into movies recently it got me thinking about the book(s) that I would like to see turned into movies. I think any of the more recent Lunar Chronicles and also The Looking Glass Wars would be great to see leap off the pages. Especially since those books have this complex looking characters. What book or books would you love to see be turned into a movie?

CaptKirk42 Classic Whovian (klandersen) | 455 comments Some of Fred Saberhagen's books especially the Empire of the East Trilogy. That one would have to be of epic proportions like The Lord of the Rings or Narnia series of movies. Plus his "Pilgrim" series which is a time travel series.

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever Trilogy(s) by Stephen R. Donaldson

Space Cops series by Diane Duane that could make a good regular TV series if done right.

Lynnette | 166 comments I know there was 1 movie based on a Clive Cussler book poor adaptation & not the best choice of books to make into a movie. There are others that would be a lot more exciting if the right director & writer were chosen bit like action movies~~no tear jerkers for me.

Lynnette | 166 comments TV SERIES The Expanse based on James S. A. Corey books is ok. An epic movie would be better. The viewing audience today seems enamored with a future. So let's do that! I am tired of future movies that put the world in darkness. Can someone recommend a book that paints the future a little more like something to look forward to instead of "OMG, I better slit my wrists now"?

Ah Sahara Based on the Dirk Pitt series! I enjoyed that movie but it didn't seem to fit the character to me. I admit I only read one Dirk Pitt book Shock Wave but loved it and imagined if done right could work as a movie franchise. Too me Dirk is sort of a cross between James Bond and Indiana Jones leaning toward Indi. In the book I loved the description of his hanger-home-homebase.

RE: The Expanse TV series. I tried watching it. Saw the first four episodes and didn't get into it. It felt too much like some film noir spy thing mixed with cops in space. Trying to be a suspense mystery space thing.
