Start here: What Jane Austen novel did you read most recently?
I'm reading Sense and Sensibility because I am writing my version of her novel called "Common Sense and Sensibility"
I am currently reading Pride and Prejudice I am enjoying it so far. It is my first time reading Jane Austen
I am reading becoming Jane Austen by John spence. It is a biography. Besides trying to figure out who is who with all the names, it is so far very interesting figuring out her muses in her stories.
Lady Susan, but also I'm in the middle of Pride and Prejudice as part of a group read with www.JustJane1813.com. We just started Volume 2 (Chapter 24) if anyone wants to join in. One chapter each week with discussions on the web site.

Hi, Sherlan! Welcome to our group. I love that you've stuck with the first one you read. Nothing more is required from you. :) Thanks!

Oh I loved Mansfield Park (poor Fanny Price). Have you seen the film version (1999) with Frances O'Connor (as Fanny Price) and Jonny Lee Miller (as Edmund Bertram)?

I saw the movie :-) And it was horrible.

Yes I saw it too and wasn't keen on it either. I like the one with Billy Piper as Fanny. They cut quite a bit of it but I found it very enjoyable.
Persuasion! I'm currently listening to P&P as being read by my beloved Rosamund Pike....a mere 11 and 1/2 hrs!!!!
I received two presents from my dear teacher: one of them it's a coloring book inspired in Pride and Prejudice. Besides the illustrations, there are phrases from the original book. It's really beautiful! I freakout when I received it. :)
I'm reading S&S! Such a lovely read! Northanger Abbey is awesome, too!
P&P read by Rosamond Pike???? Where can I get this??
Wow! It's so good to see so many lovely Janeites here! Welcome, welcome, welcome!

I think it's only on Audible.

Hi! I am new to this group. Just want to say, I'm glad to be here. I am currently reading Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility which was given to by sister as a birthday present to me. I find the account deeply profound and I look forward to reading and exploring more of Austen's wittiness in his literary works. May you all have a lovely day. :)

Emma. It was a lovely read and I loved Mr. Knightley! My second favourite after P&P though I'm still to read Persuasion which is said to be Austen's best.
It's amazing how different people like different books. I found Emma awful hard going . I didn't like Emma herself at all which didn't help. But I've promised to read it to honor her anniversary this year. You'll love Persuasion. My favorite.
Hello, I just joined your group.I am currently re-reading Pride and Prejudice, which is, admittedly, one of my favorite novels by Jane Austen: one, because I just love the character of Anne Elliot in Persuasion (and of Wentworth, let's not fool ourselves), as well as Northanger Abbey.
I don't think we really can have only one favored character, and one favored Austen's novel... Do you?
Mathilde
Hi, Mathilde! Welcome to The Official Jane Austen Book Club! I agree that it is hard to have just one favorite character or favorite novel. Jane Austen's works are flawless!

I just finished the audiobook of Northanger Abbey. ^_^ I thought it was nice to have it read aloud by someone even though you've already read the account :)
I've gotta say that the Jane Austen book I've read both the most and most recently is actually Pride and Prejudice. I've been writing on fanfiction.net about the characters and why I believe the book is a classic.
Elda wrote: "I am going to begin reading Sanditon!! Has anyone read the book and watched the BBC series?"I have done both. The book is great, I wish Austen got to finish it!! I don't love the show, but some of it feels quite Austen-ey.
