message 17: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) According to my own personal ideals, of course.

If you want to believe in the afterlife, go ahead.
Look at it this way, you'll literally never find out that you're wrong.
XD

message 30: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) Yeah. Even as an atheist I respect the current Pope.
Mainly because he said these ultimately meaningless words - but with great sentiment:
"Atheists too can achieve salvation."

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Atheist.

message 35: by Jinnie (new)

Jinnie | 68 comments I'm an atheist and have no religion;), I choose to be this way because there is no scientific proof of a greater power!:)
I used to just tell people that I was agnostic because telling people Ur an atheist kind of makes some people uncomfortable. And it turns out that it kind of makes sense that I have no religion because wile doing a heritage research paper on were I was born I found out that actually 46% of my country has no religion! Wow that's a lot of words, sorry I promise in real life I don't talk this much!;)

message 36: by Jinnie (new)

Jinnie | 68 comments Oh and yes I don't believe in heaven or hell, or any after life for that matter;) I believe that once u die u r gone! Oh and I also don't believe in having a sole ( sorry I don't think i spelt that right )

Phantom: The only way to achieve salvation is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. For God So Loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him will NOT perish but have ETERNAL life John 3:16. All you have to do is: Admit that you're a sinner, ask Jesus for forgiveness, and to guide you through your life. Eternal life (key words)

message 38: by Jinnie (new)

Jinnie | 68 comments Um I'm sorry I don't mean to cause more conflict of insult you but being an atheist is not sinning and everyone is intitled to their own opinion , yes it wasn't really nice of him to say the popes words were meaningless but it wasn't nice at all to say that he was sinning for saying what he believed in:(

Eternal life sounds great to me and I hope soon, you both can find Jesus. God bless :)

message 40: by Jinnie (new)

Jinnie | 68 comments Well that can be your opinion but you don't need to force it on other people. I'm really sorry I usually try not to pic fights please don't take anything that I have typed as an insult, and I apologies if I have said any thing to insult your beliefs, I never meant to;)

I know where Jesus is. I found him in the Bible. Pity I never saw him anywhere else.

@narnian
this is place of sharing and these people shared their atheists to add to a thread not be preached at.

@jinnie
you're not causing any insult. (sorry if I sound rude @narnain) this is a place to share and what you believe is what you believe. religions won't be forced upon people here.

message 44: by Ricky (new)

Ricky (spider-fan) Raised Catholic. Can't really cope with the guilt. I do believe in God, but not in most of the Church's teachings - especially where sexuality is concerned. I don't support abstinence or waiting till marriage, I'm bi, etc.

message 45: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) Cool!

message 47: by Ricky (new)

Ricky (spider-fan) So your shell's not that hard, is it, child?

message 48: by Julia (new)

Julia Ricky, you don't have to not be Catholic if you don't want to. I have a feeling the Pope is going to do something about all of this current problems in people our age. I don't know why you feel guilty. If you want to explain yourself, feel free to PM me.

I personally believe that you shouldn't force your beliefs on somebody, but if they inquire, I think you should tell them why you are your religion and why you like it.

message 49: by Jinnie (new)

Jinnie | 68 comments Yes I agree with Julia;)!

message 50: by Ricky (last edited Mar 31, 2014 03:32PM) (new)

Ricky (spider-fan) Very nice, Jules, Jinnie. Very nice. I sure hope so.

That was a very nice picture of the Pope you posted earlier, by the way.
